Is Sangeeta Bijlani planning to sue 'Azhar' makers?

The makers of forthcoming biopic Azhar introduced Nargis Fakhri's character with the song Oye Oye (Nargis is playing Sangeeta Bijlani, who was Mohammad Azharuddin's second wife) and it seems that Sangeeta is already gearing up for a legal fight.

Sources inform that Sangeeta was not consulted about Azhar or the role that Nargis is playing in the movie and that she is planning to sue the makers if the movie shows her in a poor light. But, some reveal that when Sangeeta was approached by the makers of the film for her help, she did not show any interest and remained aloof about the project.

Azhar, which is based on the life of former Indian cricket captain Mohammad Azharuddin, stars Emraan Hashmi in the lead role.

Stars generally have to deal with fans, who turn into stalkers, but this might be the first time in the history of Bollywood that an actor became a stalker for the sake of a movie.

At the trailer launch of Azhar, which is based on the life and struggles of former Indian cricket captain Mohammad Azharuddin,Emraan Hashmi, who plays the lead role, told, “Eventually I almost became a stalker, I used to stare at him to copy all his gestures. I think I made his life hell for three-four months.” Hashmi told that as Azhar is a well-known personality, he had to take extra care to see to it that he faithfully captures his mannerism and his body language.

Directed by Tony D'Souza, Azhar also stars Prachi Desai, Nargis Fakhri and Lara Dutta.

Emraan Hashmi will be next seen playing the lead in a biopic on the life of former Indian cricket captain Mohammad Azharuddin in Azhar and we have learned that after copying Azhar's mannerisms for the silver screen, Hashmi has got used to behaving like him even when he is not on the sets!

A source attached to the movie unit told, "Azhar had a habit of bobbing his head while talking, and he also used to eat his food in a peculiar way. Emraan had picked up those traits while shooting for the film, but subconsciously Emraan also has picked up these traits off camera as well. In fact, he even shot a couple of videos imitating Azhar."

Director Tony D'Souza told, "It was quite amusing to see them together because both of them would do it at the same time, making the resemblance far too obvious even when the cameras were not rolling.'' Tony further added, "Emraan has worked hard to get the body language right which included keenly observing the way Azhar speaks, walks, even the way he holds his fork and knife while eating. As part of his prep, he even shadowed the cricketer at least for a month".

Former Indian cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin has turned a year older and Emraan Hashmi, who is playing him in his biopic -Azhar, gave him a very special gift on his 53rd birthday.

The actor shared a black and white image on Twitter from the movie, in which he resembles the former skipper from his initial days.

Emraan shared the still on the micro-blogging site, posting, “Happy 53rd Birthday @mpazhar. Here is my birthday present. Me as You in #Azhar!#HappyBirthdayAzhar @AzharTheFilm”

Directed by Tony D'Souza, the biopic will ensnare the three most important aspects of Azhar's life- his faith in Allah, his two wives and his unproven involvement in the controversial match fixing episode.
