Ranbir Kapoor finds physical transformation in Shamshera an occupational hazard!

Ranbir Kapoor is one of the charming actors in Bollywood. The Rockstar actor has been a part of some of the most iconic movies like Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani, Barfi, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Rajneeti and Sanju. He is going to be back on the silver screens after more than 4 years with Shamshera and has been energetically working on other future projects too, which will see a release next year.

In a latest media chat, the Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani star was asked about what was the most challenging part of making a film like Shamshera apart from the physical transformation. Ranbir responded by saying that the physical transformation had become an occupational hazard and for a movie like Shamshera, it was necessary for a quintessential hero and heroine to look physically fit. Also, the film, being based in the 1800s, required a certain build and body for the character, as instructed by director Karan Malhotra. He further added, “It has been the most toughest film of my career, physically, mentally, playing 2 characters, matching Karan’s imagination and vision for the two characters, and that was hard for me because it is not something that comes naturally from me and its something that is way out of my lane. With a lot of help from Karan, hair & make-up team, cast and crew, I think we managed to make both the characters distinct and engaging. You feel for them, you have empathy for them, you cheer for them and for these qualities of a character you put on-screen, there is nothing greater than that.”

In the meantime, Ranbir Kapoor starrer Shamshera will release on 22nd July, 2022.

Vaani Kapoor to reveal about her role in Ranbir Kapoor starrer Shamshera!

Beautiful actress Vaani Kapoor is readying for the release of her forthcoming movie ‘Shamshera’ featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt in lead roles. The movie marks first union of Ranbir and Vaani for a film. The actress essays the love interest of Ranbir’s character Sona who is a dancer.

Explaining her character in the movie, Vaani told she essays the character of Sona, the most sought-after travelling performer of India in the 1800s. She further added, “I have always chosen roles where my character pivots the script in a certain direction and in Shamshera too, Sona plays an important role in building the narrative,” Vaani revealed to an online portal.

The actress also thanked director Karan Malhotra for seeing her in the role of Sona. She told Karan held her hand at every step of the way and guided her to bring Sona to life. The Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui actress further revealed, “Sona has a strong will power, she’s confident, a go getter yet has her own emotional vulnerabilities. She’s definitely one of the most refreshing characters I have played on screen.”

Speaking about co-star Ranbir Kapoor, the Befikre actress revealed, “I am teaming up with Ranbir Kapoor – a powerhouse of talent. He’s truly a very special actor and my personal favourite.”

Directed by Karan Malhotra, the movie is set to release in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu on July 22, 2022. Shamshera marks Ranbir’s return to the cinemas after 4 years after the release of his 2018 film, Sanju.

Sanjay Dutt talks about being pitted against Ranbir Kapoor in Shamshera!

After an antagonist role in his latest film KGF Chapter 2, Sanjay Dutt is all set to return with the character of yet another villain Sher Singh in the much-awaited movie Shamshera. The Khalnayak star will be sharing the screen space with Ranbir Kapoor for the first time and the actor is thrilled about it. Since Ranbir essayed the role of Sanjay in his biopic ‘Sanju’, the actor told it will be quite interesting for the audience to watch them as it will be ‘Sanju Vs Sanju.’

Recently, the Naam actor posted that he was excited to know that he pitted against Ranbir in Shamshera. He revealed, “It is also quite interesting that I’m pitted against Ranbir, who played me in Sanju. So, the on-screen enmity between him and me becomes all the more interesting for people. Ranbir is a brilliant actor but this film sees him in a new gaze. His boyish charm is inimitable, but in this film, he is a man who finds his footing and looks glorious on screen.”

Speaking about Karan Malhotra, Sanjay tells, “Karan always creates a larger-than-life villain. Be it my character Kancha in Agneepath and now as Shuddh Singh, he knows how to present an antagonist. Personally, I hope he keeps creating more exciting villains for me. He’s someone who hasn’t left the commercial zone of Indian cinema and I have full faith that with Shamshera he has whipped up a winner.”

The story of Shamshera is set in the fictitious city of Kaza, where a warrior tribe is imprisoned, enslaved, and tortured by a ruthless authoritarian general Shuddh Singh (Sanjay Dutt). This is the story of Shamshera (Ranbir Kapoor), a man who became a slave, a slave who became a leader, and then a legend for his tribe.

Directed by Karan Malhotra, the movie is set to release in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu on July 22, 2022.

Ranbir Kapoor starrer Shamshera to release on OTT amidst pandemic?

After Rajkumar Hirani’s 2018 release Sanju, Bollywood star is eagerly waiting for his next release Shamshera. Among Ranbir upcoming movies, Yash Raj Films’ Shamshera has been one of the most anticipated releases. Directed by Karan Malhotra, the movie is scheduled to release on March 18 this year. But, given the rise in COVID 19 cases, there have been conjectures that Shamshera might take the digital route for release.

Recently, in a latest media chat, Director Karan Malhotra specified that it will be the call of the producer. He revealed, “This is completely my producer's (Aditya Chopra) jurisdiction, he is the most active producer I have ever worked with, in my life. He knows best and I have left it completely up to him. He is the expert and I enjoy my creative space as far as Shamshera is concerned. I have made the film with all my sincerity and all the efforts that I could put in and the film is shaped out well. Now everything is up to Adi. How he wants to place it, what his planning is, everything is in his hands. I have given my best as a director and now I have the country's best producer who is nurturing it further. What else could I have asked for?”

Beside from Ranbir Kapoor, Shamshera will also star Vaani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt in important roles.

Presently, Ranbir Kapoor and Vaani Kapoor are gearing for their next Shamshera. For this, Ranbir and Vaani have been working closely with their director, Karan Malhotra. Presently, both have been practicing for their scenes at Yash Raj Films studio.

In a photograph from the Shamshera’s sets, we can see Ranbir, Vaani and director Karan Malhotra fully engrossed in chat with each other. The first schedule of Yash Raj Film's mega project Shamshera will start off from tomorrow in Mumbai. Film Shamshera stars Ranbir Kapoor, Vaani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt in key roles. The production house had organised a pooja for Shamshera. The pooja was attended Ranbir Kapoor, director of the movie Karan Malhotra and Vaani Kapoor. As per news, Vaani Kapoor is playing Ranbir's love interest. Sanjay Dutt couldn’t attend the ceremony as he was hectic with his earlier commitments.

Ranvir had previously worked with YRF. He gave his first hit with YRF's Bachna Ae Haseeno and was also seen in banner's critically acclaimed movie Rocket Singh: Salesman of The Year. Now the gap of nine years, he is collaborating with the production house again. “It was amazing to have Shamshera’s cast and crew under one roof before we dive into shooting our film. All of us are excited to start this journey," Karan Malhotra had told in an interview.

Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor is enjoying the success of his movie Sanju. The film, directed by Rajkumar Hirani, entered the 200 crore club within a week smashing numerous records in the process. This is also Ranbir's first 200 crore movie and obviously, the actor is overjoyed about it.

The actor is presently busy with Brahmastra, first of the trilogy, to be produced under Karan Johar's home banner Dharma Productions.  

As per report, Ranbir will be seen taking up an entirely different role that of dacoit for the movie Shamshera. In the flick, Ranbir will be seen sharing the screen space with Sanjay Dutt. The film is being produced by Yash Raj Films and will be helmed by Karan Malhotra. About his role, Ranbir revealed to a daily, “It’s definitely a very aggressive, intense and angry character. It is set in the 1800s and it’s about a dacoit tribe who is fighting for their rights and independence."

About the work with Sanjay, he told, "It is an exciting space and Sanjay is playing an antagonist. Also, it is a new collaboration for me with Karan Malhotra. I am really looking forward to starting this project."

Now, Bollywood stars Ranbir Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt are uniting for YRF’s Shamshera. Yash Raj Films just verified that they have roped in Sanjay Dutt to essay the relentless, ruthless villain to Ranbir Kapoor’s war hero in their forthcoming movie Shamshera.
