Ali Abbas Zafar repudiates conjectures of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan being shelved!

As we all know that Fans were all excited when the announcement of the reboot of Govinda and Amitabh Bachchan starrer 1998 hit ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ was made. Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff have been roped in to esaay the lead roles in the forthcoming movie. But freshly, the news of shelving the second installment of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan started doing rounds on social media.  In the meantime, about this shelving conjecture, filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar told, “This is absolutely baseless. We are very much on track and there’s no truth to the shelving rumours.”

Calling the rumours baseless, the filmmaker revealed the movie is very much on track and is currently in pre-production. He further revealed, ““We are currently working on the pre-production. I don’t know where these rumours are coming from. For a film of this large scale, months of pre-production is needed. We will go on floors by the end of this year or early next year and shoot in the UK.”

Earlier it was reported that, Zafar and his creative team are planning to mount Bade Miyan Chote Miyan as one of the biggest action thrillers of Bollywood.  A major part of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan will be shot in London. While conjectures were widespread about who would replace the original casting of Priyanka Chopra, Ali verified with a daily that it was indeed Katrina who will fill the shoes of Chopra's character instead. "I am extremely excited to work with Katrina and Salman again. We have had exciting collaborations in the past. Katrina got on board in the Nick of time for this project," Ali revealed to a daily.

Bharat is inspired by the Korean film, Ode to My Father (2014) and also stars Jackie Shroff, Tabu, Disha Patani, Sunil Grover and Nora Fatehi in pivotal roles.

Bharat is scheduled for an Eid 2019 release.

Film Sultan’s director Ali Abbas Zafar and its stars Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma emerged winners at the Tehran International Sports Film Festival.

Ali Abbas Zafar won an Honorary Diploma for the Best Director of Long Narrative, while Salman and Anushka won the Best Actor and Diploma in the Long Narrative section and the Best Actress trophy and diploma in the Long Narrative section, read a statement from the film's production banner Yash Raj Films.

"'Sultan' has cut across borders, cultures and languages with its powerful story, performances and honest belief in the life-changing impact of a sport. The team and I are very thankful to the organisers at Tehran International Sports Film Festival for their appreciation and love," Zafar told in a statement.

"Sultan" is all about a middle-aged wrestler, who gives up the sport. Years later, he sets out to revive his career as he needs the prize money and wants to regain his lost respect.

Ali Abbas Zafar reveals about SRK and Salman’s understanding and chemistry!

Director Ali Abbas Zafar is riding high on the success of Tiger Zinda Hai which is raking in big collections at the box-office and was the reply to the dud that was the 2017 box-office.

This was the second time that Ali worked with Salman after Sultan. The filmmaker is yet to work with Shah Rukh Khan and in an interview with a tabloid, Ali stated that he would love to direct a movie with the two Khans. 

Ali told to the tabloid, "The only two superstars who I think can be brought for a film together are Salman and Shah Rukh. They have an easy understanding and chemistry. They are always in their element with each other. You need to hear them talk when they are sitting together."

On what genre the film would be based on, Ali continued, "I would love to do a comedy with both of them. I definitely want to; I don’t know if it will ever happen but one thing is for sure, both of them are extremely secure. Hence, it wouldn’t be a problem to get them to do a film together. But the script has to be well-written."

Salman's lately released movie Tiger Zinda Hai, which also stars Katrina Kaif has already entered 300-crore-club. In an interview with a famous daily, director Ali Abbas Zafar expressed how it feels to work with Salman Khan.

Ali told, "There is a secret method of working with Salman and I will keep that information to myself.

He further revealed, "The face of Indian cinema is changing and you need to make a statement with every film. One must be open to experimenting with genres instead of sticking to one. To keep up with the current landscape, it is important to keep rediscovering the superstar that Salman Khan is. It is imperative that as a writer, I give him the material that enables him to discover new dimensions while portraying his character."

Ali also disclosed that Salman Khan has an immense knowledge of numerous things including different kinds of cinema. The Sultan director specified, "Salman harbours new ideas. Couple that with the years of experience he has and you will realise he is a powerhouse of knowledge. He watches contemporary movies, documentaries and shows spanning language. His conversations on movies are evolved because he is constantly learning. When you sit and have a conversation with him, you realise the extent of knowledge he has. It isn't limited to cinema alone, but extends to socio-political topics too."

Ali Abbas Zafar discloses niceties of Salman starrer Bharat!

Superstar Salman Khan has given two hits with director Ali Abbas Zafar - Sultan (2016) and Tiger Zinda Hai (2017). The twosome will again team up for another movie titled as Bharat.

Bharat will be a remake of South Korean movie Ode To My Father (2014). The original movie was directed by Yoon Je-kyoon. Director Ali Abbas Zafar revealed that it was Salman Khan's idea to do this film.

Ali told a leading news agency, "That film came to me from Salman himself. He gave me the film and said he really likes it and asked me to watch it. I saw it and really liked it. (But) You can’t make the film exactly how it is in the original. The socio-political scenario affects your story and the character. But I liked the basic crux of the film. Salman said after ‘Tiger…’, you do this."

The rights of Ode To My Family have been bought by Atul Agnihotri, who is Salman Khan's brother-in-law.

It was informed that Bharat will revolve around India-Pakistan partition story. But, Ali denied to comment on the same.

When the director was questioned who will be working in the movie along with Salman, he told, "We will begin March onwards. I want to sleep for a month. We are at the elementary stage."

During a media communication at Tiger Zinda Hai's trailer release, when Ali was questioned about his equation with Salman, the filmmaker revealed, "It's a good relationship. We work very well. He's such a big superstar and there is a certain way that people perceive him. I think somewhere between him and me, we have an understanding that I look at him in a way that a lot of people won't look at him. The quintessential hero who can be real. He is not Superman but he is real and at the same time, he can do what we want him to do, especially on screen."

On whether it was hard to cast both Salman and Katrina Kaif in Tiger Zinda Hai, Ali disclosed, "I've worked with both of them. Katrina was there in my first film. She's a very close friend. Salman, obviously I've worked with on Sultan. It was not that difficult because both of them reacted very strongly to the story of the film. In today's time, the way cinema is progressing, I think we are trending more towards realism, more to tell stories which are real stories where people have heard about those stories or want to see those stories. When they heard the story as well as the rescue mission where the nurses were captured for 10 days, they were excited. It's a completely fictional film but we've written around that event on how to get those nurses back."

Tiger Zinda Hai is scheduled to release on December 22, 2017.

Superstar Salman Khan is currently busy shooting for Ali Abbas Zafar's Tiger Zinda Hai which also stars Katrina Kaif. Tiger Zinda Hai is a sequel to Kabir Khan's Ek Tha Tiger.

But, the buzz now is that Salman will be teaming up with Ali for the third time for a movie. The movie is said to be produced by Salman's sister Alvira Agnihotri and brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri and has been seemingly titled, Bharat.

Salman and Ali first collaborated for Sultan which went on to become one of the highest-grossing hits. The movie even won the Best Action Film award at the lately held Shanghai International Film Festival. In the movie, we saw Salman and Anushka pairing up for the first time and boy their chemistry assuredly did miracles at the box office.

Speaking about Tiger Zinda Hai, a source disclosed to a famous tabloid, “The teaser of the film is ready and they will unveil it when the time is right.” The report further specified that the 51-year-old megastar will start shooting for Bharat once he wraps up Tiger Zinda Hai. Ever since it was pronounced that Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif will be coming together for Tiger Zinda Hai, fans have been thrilled to see them together on screen. 

The director of the film is Ali Abbas Zafar who directed Salman's superhit film, Sultan. Ali took to Twitter to post a fun video of his lead actor and showed us a glimpse of what to expect from Tiger Zinda Hai. 

In the video, Salman is seen in a snowmobile performing a stunt and looking like a boss.

We can't wait to see the film already. The action sequences are assuredly going to be good as Ali has roped in the action director of Hollywood flicks like The Dark Knight and Inception. His name is Tom Struthers. 

Salman and Katrina are presently shooting in Austria and seemed to be having a very good time as evidenced by the pictures that have surfaced on social media. Kabir Khan is happy for director Ali Abbas Zafar to direct Tiger Zinda Hai!

Filmmaker Kabir Khan, who helmed the Salman Khan starrer "Ek Tha Tiger", is happy that director Ali Abbas Zafar is directing "Tiger Zinda Hai", the second instalment in the 'Tiger' series.

Talking at the Kirori Mal College Alumni meet on Wednesday to raise funds for reconstructing the college's auditorium, Kabir told, "The series was started by me, and Ali is taking that forward. I feel very happy for him. He was my assistant and my close friend too."

"As Yash Raj Films has the rights of the series, so Ali will be directing the second instalment. He will go with his vision of 'Tiger', though the characters and the basic set-up will be the same. The world which was created by me will be the same, but the interpretation will be different," he further added.

Asked if he has given any personal inputs for the sequel, Kabir Khan told, "No, I haven't. Whatever the characters were in the first part, those will be carried forward, but the plot is different and is created by Ali only."

The shooting of "Tiger Zinda Hai" has started in Morocco. It is scheduled to release on December 22.

In the meantime, Khan has lately finished shooting his upcoming film "Tubelight".
