Acting is an ‘insecure profession’, one has to sacrifice a lot, says Dev D star Abhay Deol!

Alongside Ayesha Takia, Abhay Deol made his major Bollywood debut in the 2015 movie Socha Na Tha. Deol has recently talked about his fears of stardom, which caused him to take a year off from acting during the prime of his career to think.

He revealed in a recent interview that the notion of fame unnerved him, influenced by tales he had heard as a child and the media's portrayal of his family. Deol acknowledged that he originally "thought acting would be the end of him, noting that there's no personal life and one has to sacrifice a lot." He also acknowledged that acting is a "insecure profession."

Abhay Deol stated in an interview with a tabloid that becoming a celebrity requires sacrifices, such as giving up one's personal autonomy. He acknowledged both the good and bad parts of his career and reflected on his journey, saying that at first he thought stardom may be his downfall.

It can be discouraging when people you trust don't have your best interests at heart, according to Deol, who characterized the film industry as fiercely competitive. He continued by saying that, in stark contrast to a normal 9–5 employment, the profession lacks stability and security because the public is always watching.

Deol said that he was deeply affected by hearing or seeing others speak or behave badly, underscoring the psychological toll the industry can have on celebrities. His decision to back off was influenced by this encounter.

Abhay's most recent role was in the Netflix series Trial By Fire, which also featured Ratna Pathak Shah, Rajshri Deshpande, Anupam Kher, Rajesh Tailang, and others.

Speaking about his next endeavors, he will soon appear in Bun Tikki, which also features Shabana Azmi and Zeenat Aman. For those who don't know, Azmi and Zeenat will be working together again on a movie with Bun Tikki after 40 years apart.

Faraz Arif Ansari is directing Bun Tikki, which is being financed by Manish Malhotra's Stage 5 Production label in collaboration with Jio Studios. Bun Tikki's primary photography has already been finished. The producers haven't decided on a release date yet, though.
