Hollywood Squares, the renowned game show with Drew Barrymore in the central square and hosted by Nate Burleson, is coming back to CBS.
Nate Burleson, a former wide receiver for the NFL, writes football coverage for
CBS's The NFL Today and co-hosts CBS Mornings. He played in the NFL for 11
years, spending time with the Minnesota Vikings, Seattle Seahawks, and Detroit
Lions. The new Hollywood Squares will open on Wednesday nights in January 2025,
after The Price Is Right at Night and Raid the Cage.
Hollywood Squares is a tic tac toe game where two players compete for prizes and money. On the game board, every cube represents a famous person. Contestants must decide if the celebrities' answers to the questions are accurate in order to win. Drew Barrymore will be at the central square every day. Her production company, Flower Films, and Jesse Collins Entertainment will co-produce the program.
Hollywood Squares debuted on
television in 1966 on NBC. It was revived twice: with host John Davidson in
1986 and with host Tom Bergeron in 1998. Whoopi Goldberg was the executive
producer and regular center square at the time. Former regulars included Joan
Rivers, David Letterman, Ellen DeGeneres, Vincent Price, and Weird Al Yankovic.
