Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan is getting ready for his next movie, Chandu Champion, which is based on Murlikant Petkar, the first gold medallist from India at the Paralympic Games. As he promoted the film, he talked about how Bollywood's rising entourage costs are causing below-the-line technicians to lose out on income.
Kartik Aaryan revealed that the film Shehzada had financial difficulties, thus
he didn't collect a fee for it. He noted that actors frequently make these
kinds of motions that are missed.
During a media chat, Kartik Aaryan revealed that the budgetary limitations of the action comedy Shehzada from the previous year led him to choose not to receive his pay. For the film, which was directed by Rohit Dhawan and featured Kriti Sanon, he was given producer credit.
Kartik Aaryan stressed that he took this decision at a period when people weren't talking about doing things like that. Because of the financial constraints of the production, he opted not to accept his compensation. He bemoaned the fact that media coverage of such celebrity behaviors frequently ignores them.
He revealed, “It is not just me, a lot of stars do this and a lot bigger things. There is a simple mathematics. From directors, actors, to producers, everyone wants their films to work. No one wants to load their films. I don’t think anyone thinks, ‘No, no, I will charge what I want to, film jaaye bhaad mein (the film be damned)’.”
This problem has previously been tackled by actors like Kriti Sanon and Janhvi Kapoor, as well as directors Farah Khan and Kunal Kohli.
