After the success of Simmba, Ranveer Singh has had the
perfect end to 2018 and after all the promotions and conferences, the actor has
finally jetted off to New York with wife Deepika Padukone for their honeymoon.
After returning from his most-awaied honeymoon, Ranveer
Singh will dive straight into work and in 2019, Ranveer’s calendar looks
choc-o-block with Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy, Karan Johar’s Takht and Kabir Khan’s
‘83’, a biopic on cricketer Kapil Dev.
Speaking about the movie, Ranveer Singh revealed to a daily,
“The story is on such delicious scale and there’s so much meat in it. It’s
going to be special because he has a stellar cast. I have worked with Alia and
Anil Kapoor before. Vicky is somebody whom I wanted to collaborate with;
Kareena is someone who I am crazy about, and Janhvi is so promising and also
someone who I am keen to work with. Moreover, Bhumi took my auditions in Band
Bajaa Baraat and now she is working in this film. It’s crazy and this is damn
exciting.”
Speaking about Takht, Ranveer Singh disclosed that the movie
is a family drama and explores the relationship between father, son, brother,
and sister. “People don’t understand that K3G is a family film and it’s about
internal dynamics of family and Takht is the same at its core. What period it’s
set in? And what costumes they are wearing? The world is just a decoration. At
the core, it’s a family drama about love, greed, ambition, betrayal,
brotherhood, and dynamics between father, son, brothers, and sisters all this
compiles the essence of the story,” elucidates the actor,” revealed Ranveer.
