Salman Khan attended the IIFA 2017 presscon in Mumbai recently
along with Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt. Salman, Katrina and Alia spoke about it
and mentioned that it will be one of the biggest events of the year. Set to be
held at the iconic MetLife Stadium in New York July 14-15, the two-day IIFA
festival will see a congregation of film celebrities.
Salman Khan and Alia Bhatt are nominated in the Best Actor
male and female categories. While the nominees for Best Actor in Leading Role
(Male) are Shahid Kapoor for Udta Punjab, Ranbir Kapoor for Ae Dil Hai Mushkil,
Shah Rukh Khan for Fan, Sushant Singh Rajput for M.S. Dhoni..., Amitabh
Bachchan for Pink and Salman Khan for Sultan, the women contenders are Anushka
Sharma for Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Alia Bhatt for Dear Zindagi and Udta Punjab,
Sonam Kapoor for Neerja and Taapsee Pannu for Pink.
But, Salman disclosed that he has no hopes of winning the
coveted award. When questioned who, according to him, would win the Best Actor
award, Salman said, "Definitely not me. I believe in the rewards I get
from IIIFA and fans, but awards are not my thing."
He further added, "I may be presenting an award at the
ceremony but perhaps not receiving one."
