Super hit film Baahubali 2: The Conclusion made history by
registering a colossal success not just in the domestic market but even
overseas. The film went on to create a rage by minting over INR 1500 crores
worldwide. If Hindi collections are taken into consideration, the movie again
created history by earning over INR 500 crore which is an extraordinary number.
Forget 200 -300 crore club, Baahubali 2 has now become the
hallmark for any movie to be declared a hit or not. The next to face this
pressure is Salman Khan’s Tubelight. Given his megastar status, trade experts
are wondering if the movie would be able to surpass Baahubali’s record.
Salman, who is presently busy promoting Tubelight was currently
present for a media interaction, was questioned if Tubelight will be able to
break Baahubali 2’s record, to which Salman promptly told, “I doubt it is going
to break the record.”
He further clarified, “Because Bahubali is like one of a
freakish film that has happened and the Hindi film goers have been like super,
they did not care if it was a dubbed film, they did not care that it was like a
Tamil, Telugu film, a South Indian film, they went to see because they loved
the first one, so they lapped the movie on and because of the Hindi cinema
goers that film has got this numbers. Hats off to our guys who have gone and
seen the film and made it such a big hit.”
When questioned if he is feeling the box office pressure,
Salman told, “I don’t take pressure. As long as no one loses money, I am fine with
it.”
