Kangana spills the beans on the nepotism hullabaloo!

Earlier, Kangana Ranaut stirred a debate about how nepotism exists in Bollywood. The entire discussion started after the actress appeared on Karan Johar's chat show and called him the flag bearer of nepotism. Visibly, Karan didn't take the statement too kindly and hit back at the actress at an event in London School of Economics.

What followed next was a war of words between the two. While numerous denied to get into this debate, there were some who chose their sides. Lately, filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt was asked about it and he told that he agrees to Kangana Ranaut's statements.

When Kangana was questioned what she has to say on Mahesh Bhatt's stand, the actress decided to dissect her thoughts on nepotism further, so as to make it easier for people to understand.

She told, "If you're talking about nepotism, it's not an objection, it's an observation. As an individual, it is my prerogative to leave my footsteps behind for the ones who will follow me. It is important they know where I fell, where I walked, stayed and ran... We should all work on it and not point fingers and make it sound like a fight to make the society more democratic for everyone."

Kangana further said, "What is an outsider? We are all working to make cinema. Anyone working for some other intention is an outsider. I don't consider myself an outsider. Whoever comes from an unconventional background, they should work towards it and not say, 'Oh we have been lucky enough that we didn't face any discrimination or we are the chosen one, the industry has accepted us with open arms'."

The National Award winning actress Kangana specified that it is because of actors like her, the industry has developed a rather democratic environment today. Newcomers can openly confess that they cannot talk in English and yet they won't be looked down upon by the industry insiders.

"The fact that today in the industry we have a lot more democratic environment is also because of people like us who have been working at it. I see newcomers easily say 'I can't talk in English I will only talk in Hindi.' It's because we have made it appear cool. We are going to make outsiders feel and appear cool," reveals Kangana.

Kangana said further, "An actor should not be rejected because someone doesn’t speak English, or has sweat patches because they have come in a rickshaw for an audition or someone is sharing an apartment with 10 people in an ‘uncool’ location. They shouldn’t be shamed for that. The doors shouldn’t be shut on their faces because of that."
