After numerous rumours signifying that Vidya Balan
has opted out of Malayalam director Kamal's Aami, it has finally been
confirmed that the actress has walked out of the biopic based on feminist poet
Kamala Surayya aka Madhavikutty.
Vidya’s representative confirmed the news and disclosed,
“Vidya respects the director and the team working on the film. But, the
director and she had different very approaches to the film. So, she opted out
of the film in the most amicable and professional manner. Any other reasons
cited are untrue.”
And while the 38-year-old actress was unquestionably
thrilled to play the role, the buzz is that the differences surfaced because
the Kahaani 2 star wasn’t happy with the final script.
A famous tabloid quoted a source as telling, “She wanted
some changes in the script and the final draft given to her didn’t excite her.
In fact, she wanted to spend more time with the director and the writer to get
into the skin of her character and that didn’t happen.”
