2017 began with a bang when it was pronounced that Akshay
Kumar would be starring in a movie which would be co-produced by Salman Khan
and Karan Johar.
The film will be directed by Anurag Singh and is scheduled
for a 2018 release.
This is one of the first times where a famous Bollywood
actor has signed another famous actor to star in his movie. On this, Akshay told,
"This is the first time that a big actor like himself asked the other
actor to sign a film and to do a film. It only happens in Hollywood. It hasn't
happened here. I have never come across anything like this. So, I think it is a
great thing and if it goes successful then this can become a trend.
Hats off to that man to come up with the fact, to put his own money on the other
actor."
On his companionship with Salman, Akshay told,
"Friendship doesn't mean we have to meet every day. We don't meet everyday.
I have never been to his place and he's never been to my place. But we have a
mutual admiration. I admire him from far way and he admires me from far
away."
Rumours are widespread that the story of the movie is
based on the Battle of Saragarhi. To this, the actor told, "Nothing is
finalized yet. Everything is still going on."
