Shahid Kapoor's wife Mira to deliver baby in Mid-September!

We had reported a few days back that actor Shahid Kapoor's wife Mira is expecting and we have learned that the baby is due in mid-September.

Sources close to the couple said Mira has started getting cravings for particular kinds of food and Shahid makes sure that he indulges her. The source added that Shahid's film Rangoon is releasing on October 14, and the baby, which is due in mid-September, is likely to be delivered before the film releases.

Reportedly, Shahid has not planned a paternity leave but he has planned his schedule such that he will get to spend time with Mira and the baby both. Recently, the couple took a quick holiday in Maldives and before that they had taken off to an undisclosed location up North to celebrate the actor's 35th birthday.


Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui is now Nandita Das' Manto!

Actress-filmmaker Nandita Das is gearing up to make a movie on famous Pakistani writer Saadat Hasan Manto and we have learned that the lead role will be played by none other than Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

Approving the news, Das, who will helm the Indo-French production, disclosed that she had Nawaz in mind since day one for the role and that though there was a pressure on her to cast a mainstream actor, she decided to go ahead with Nawaz. Das added that the movie will cover a period of seven years between 1946 and 1952, which was an important phase in the history of the subcontinent.

Nandita also disclosed that the movie, which will be titled Manto, will not be a cradle-to-grave biopic, but a drama celebrating the life and work of a writer who was a natural rebel.


Nawaz will be next seen playing a serial killer in Raman Raghav 2.0, which also stars Vicky Kaushal.

Actress Kangana Ranaut decides to extend her holiday in Austria!

Actress Kangana Ranaut, who has been in news for various reasons in the last couple of months, has decided to extend her biannual holiday.

After picking up her 3rd National Award, Kangana left for London and then she flew to Paris for some retail therapy. Presently, she is enjoying her holiday in Austria, where she is reportedly cycling and sitting by the streams. Apparently, the actress has decided to extend her brief break by about five days. Post her break, the actress is expected to start work on her next film Simram.


In the meantime, the Queen actress and actor Hrithik Roshan are still locked in a legal tussle, and both parties are waiting for the investigating team to come up with their finding and take the case forward.

Farhan Akhtar and Bejoy Nambiar reunite for a dream project!

Director Bejoy Nambiar, who is presently working on the remake of Agni Natchathiram, with Vicky Kaushal, has teamed up with Farhar Akhtar for his dream project. Farhan and Bejoy have worked together in Wazir and the former will be the lead actor and will also produce the movie.

Sources close to the development told that Bejoy had written the script years ago but the movie is taking shape only now. Bejoy had discussed the film's idea while working on their last collaboration and Farhan had shown keen interest in the script.

The makers of the movie are looking at a female lead opposite Farhan and news is that they are keen on casting Deepika Padukone. Sources further added that they are waiting for the Deepika to return from the US after finishing her movie XXX: Return Of Xander Cage.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali starts working on his next 'Padmavati'!

We had informed that Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who is known for making larger-than-life flicks, will work on a film based on Queen Padmavati of Chittor and Sultan Alauddin Khilji's obsessive desire for her and we have overheard that Bhansali has started working on the script of the film.

Sources close to the filmmaker claim that Bhansali started his research on Khilji and Padmavati and met historians to collect information about the two before starting to work on the script of the movie. As of now, we have learned that Bhansali will be teaming up with his blue-eyed boy Ranveer Singh for the movie and that Padmavati might be played by his ladylove Deepika Padukone.


Padmavati is slated to release by December next year.

Madhur Bhandarkar's next 'Main, Indu' is based on the emergency era!

Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar, who is known for movies with strong female characters, is all set to come up with another female-oriented movie. His next movie, Main, Indu, is set during the 21 months of Emergency, when legal rights were restricted.

Contrary to the news, the movie is not based on former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Sources close to the development told that Indu, in this movie has no reference to Indira Gandhi or any real-life character. The protagonist is a poet who stammers and rebels against the system during these trying times.


The National Award-winning director has been researching on the subject since six months now and has met several political leaders, journalists, prominent authors as part of his prep. 'Main, Indu' rolls this August, the source added.
