Super 30 star Hrithik Roshan talks about Vikas Bahl’s #MeToo allegations!

Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan’s Super 30 has been mired in controversies since Day 1- from the director of the film Vikas Bahl being blamed in Me Too, to the movie’s release date getting postponed and after all the setbacks, finally, the movie will see the light of the day as it will hit the screens on July 12, 2019. Now, Vikas Bahl has been cleared of all sexual misconduct allegations.

Lately, during a media chat, Hrithik Roshan opened up about Vikas' sexual harassment allegations and disclosed that he was the first to take a tough stand for the movie. Hrithik revealed, “Yes, the journey of Super 30 has been tough, but I would like to believe that it is worth it. When the #MeToo movement broke out and Vikas’ name cropped up, I was perhaps the first one to take a rather tough stand. I completely support this movement and I sincerely believe that exploitative attitude towards women must stop. Also, if you think that this movement is the last step in achieving equality, then perhaps you are wrong. The pendulum of biases and injustice on both sides is going to swing back and forth quite a few times before it centers and comes to a standstill.”

Not just this, Hrithik said that the Me Too movement should be based not on social media tittle-tattle but it should be law abiding. “It’s important that we don’t make this process independent of law, and purely based on social media/conventional media hearsay. Let not the rhetoric becomes the mantra. Like everything else, this movement also has to follow the law of the land. Charges have to be pressed and substantiated in the proper manner. I may feel strongly about something, but we cannot take the law in our hands and dole out mob justice. Since a designated ICC committee has exonerated Vikas, we are not in a position to take away his credit,” told Hrithik.

Bollywood megastar Hrithik Roshan, is currently ready for his next movie Super 30, in which he will be essaying the role of a mathematics teacher. The movie is based on the life of mathematician Anand Kumar, who began the Super 30 programme in Patna back in 2002. The educational programme selects 30 brilliant candidates each year from economically underprivileged sections of the society and coaches them for IIT entrance exams.

In a latest media chat, Anand Kumar spoke at length about working with Hrithik. He revealed, “The makers and Hrithik studied my character well. They made a video of 150 hours of me. It had clips of me teaching and the way I talk to my family members. Hrithik used that video as a case study to understand me. He also called me six-seven times to Mumbai to have discussions with me. One time, he was so engrossed in talking to me that he almost walked out of his house bare feet while escorting me out. One of his staff members came running to remind him that he had forgotten to wear his slippers.”

A lot of research and study went into making the movie and Hrithik along with Vikas worked very hard for the same. Talking about it, Anand revealed, “They have done justice to my story. Vikas ji used to go to villages to meet kids and would talk to people to give more depth to the script. He would go to remote areas where there would be no roads. You cannot travel in vehicles there, so he would walk to reach such places and talk to people. The film is the result of this hard work.”

Super 30 is scheduled to release on 12 July.

Anurag Kashyap’s no talking terms with Vikas Bahl!

Well-known filmmakers Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane, Vikas Bahl and Madhu Mantena of Phantom films decided to part ways in 2017 after a fiery turn of events. Earlier, Vikas Bahl was accused of sexual harassment by a female employee of their company, which he denied. Anurag Kashyap and Vikas Bahl have not been on talking terms since then and now after nearly eighteen months, Anurag has opened about his equation with the latter.

Speaking about Vikas Bahl, buddy Anurag revealed, “My stand on this is the same as it was back then. Vikas works in the company, he is a partner and nothing against him has been proven. But mutually, we’ve decided that we will work separately, in separate premises. Vikas and I are not on talking terms; everything else is a rumour. We will continue making films together but I see no point in making him uncomfortable. We can work in different set-ups. I don’t feel the need to sort anything out, because no one came forward to say or prove anything, at that time.”

There were numerous gossips making the rounds about Hrithik Roshan working the filmmaker Vikas Bahl based on the life of famous mathematician Anand Kumar. He is the founder of the famous Super 30 program in Patna that grooms IIT aspirants. The report states that Hrithik Roshan will be seen as the Patna-based mathematician Anand Kumar in the film which is tentatively titled Super 30.

Now, we got our hands on images of Hrithik, Vikas and Kumar meeting for a discussion in Mumbai. The photographs were shared by Kumar on his Facebook page with a caption saying, "Just returned to Patna from Mumbai. But really I can't forget my meeting yesterday with Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan. The way he invited me to his house and gave me the honour really showed that he is not just a great artist but also a great human being. Thanks Hrithik ji, thanks a lot."

Well, this gives a hint of the film totally happening!

Interestingly, this is the first time that Hrithik has agreed to do a biopic because the subject has excited him so much. Bahl had been researching on the film for quite some time now and only after things were ready, he approached Hrithik for the movie.

For the uninitiated, Anand Kumar is an Indian mathematician based out of Bihar. Since his school days, he excelled in math and hence began coaching students, who were economically backward, for IIT-JEE. Every year, his Institute Ramanujan School of Mathematics conducts an exam and shortlists 30 students, who are later groomed for IIT exams. Not only does he train them but also provides them accommodation for a year. Though Anand was initially reluctant to make the movie, later on, he gave the nod.

Queen's Vikas Bahl opens up about molestation accusations on him!

Recently, the news flashed that Bollywood's top director has been accused of a molestation case from the woman working under his production banner. Well, we are speaking about Queen's director Vikas Bahl. 

As per the report in a famous daily, one of Phantom’s female employee has complained to the Human Resources team about sexual misbehavior on the part of Bahl on a visit to Goa a couple of months before.

But, one of co-owners of Phanton Films, Madhu Mantena has repudiated all such allegations. Speaking about the whole case, Vikas opened up on his side and said the daily, "Nothing has happened. I am running the company. There is no complaint to HR and there is no Vishakha committee. I have heard about this particular lady you are speaking about and the Goa incident. She is not my employee."

He admitted being friends with her but fails to agree as to when he made her uncomfortable. He further added, "Yes, I am friends with her, we have worked together and there is a production job we have done together...but if she is feeling like this I would like to sit across a table from her and talk to her."

He continued, "I want to ask her if I have crossed a line, whether I have done anything to hurt her and if she feels that way I would like to apologise for it. I have known her for long. For two-and-a-half years she has never made me feel as if she is uncomfortable (around me). I have worked very hard to be the person I have become. I do feel a little victimized but I don’t know what to do about that."

                                                    

One of the stakeholders, on the condition of secrecy, gave a different side of the story. “There are not one, two or three but multiple victims. I was in the middle of a film shoot when I came to know about the first incident and I had to stop my shoot and come to Mumbai… there is (after all) a young girl on whom an intoxicated Vikas forced himself while they were in Goa. He has behaved badly in the past as well but when this specific complaint came, we needed to act on it," added the stakeholder.
