This article delves into the biography and rich filmography of this accomplished actress.

A Blend of Royalty and Academia:

Born on October 4, 1978, in New Delhi, Soha Ali Khan hails from a lineage steeped in both royalty and artistic excellence. She is the daughter of Sharmila Tagore, the iconic actress, and Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, the legendary cricketer and the Nawab of Pataudi. Her elder brother, Saif Ali Khan, is a prominent Bollywood actor, and her younger brother, Ibrahim Ali Khan, is also embarking on his acting journey.

Soha's upbringing instilled in her a strong emphasis on education. She pursued her academic interests diligently, graduating with a degree in Modern History from Balliol College, Oxford University, and later earning a Master's degree in International Relations from the London School of Economics. I want to be involved in Inaaya's life, reveals Soha Ali Khan!

Bollywood’s lovely couple Soha Ali Khan and Kunal Kemmu welcomed their first child, a baby girl, on September 29, 2017, and named her Inaaya Naumi Kemmu. Since then, the new parents' lives spin around their lovely daughter. Soha and Kunal have also treated admirers with loveable photographs of Inaaya and she is indeed too cute to handle.

During an interview with a tabloid, Soha told that she’ll support her daughter in whatever she chooses to do. “Whether she wants to be a full-time mother, astronaut, actor, or architect, I will support her. I want to give her a good foundation and be involved in her life. I want to teach her my values. And then, ultimately, I want to be able to help [make] her dreams come true,” revealed Soha.

In the social media era, when star kids come into the spotlight within weeks or days after birth, Soha told that setting some examples is the best way to teach children how to deal with comparisons. “I’ll show her that these things don’t matter or affect you,” she told.

“Also, one must learn to respect other people’s opinions. If somebody disagrees with you, it doesn’t mean you block them out or you remove yourself from the equation. Sometimes, it’s good to have a healthy debate. And then, of course, you can agree to disagree as well. And live and let live,’’ she further revealed.

The actress told, “I’d like to exhibit that kind of behaviour around Inaaya. I do want her to have a tough skin — I believe that in the world today, it’s important to have one, otherwise it can get to you. People are very direct and outspoken, and sometimes you hear things that can hurt us. I want her to be able to withstand that.”

“It shouldn’t be that Inaaya remains only surrounded by love and positivity. She should also be a strong person, with the [sense of] security to withstand criticism... and also be able to laugh. I think having a sense of humour is very important.”, Soha ended conversation.

Soha Ali Khan to launch her book in Delhi!

Bollywood actress Soha Ali Khan on Wednesday launched her book, The Perils of Being Moderately Famous in Delhi. Soha’s mother and veteran actress Sharmila Tagore accompanied her to the book launch event.

Soha looked stunning in a cream top teamed with a black shrug and black denim. She styled her look with high heels and beautiful neckpiece. Soha tied her hair in a ponytail.

On the other side, Sharmila Tagore looked fabulous as ever in a blue saree and multi-coloured shawl.

Earlier talking about her book, Soha had told, "The toughest chapter to write was probably the one called 'Working Actor'. The other chapters sort of fell together in place, but really, my struggle has been with my profession as an actor, which is such an important part of my life.’’

"The insecurities coming along with it, comparisons that are made which are very difficult to live up to and I feel there is a very big shoe to fill. I also feel that striking the right tone with readers about my failures, insecurities and the learning step that come across, but at the same time, not being too hard on myself, was most difficult thing for me,’’ she revealed.

Questioned what prompted her to write a book, Soha had told: "Earlier, I have written a couple of columns and essays, but to write 40,000-50,000 words is a huge task. I wanted to write non-fiction because I don't have the imagination for creative fiction. I felt certain things about my life that I could draw from and that might be humorous.’’

My struggle has been with my acting profession, says Soha Ali Khan!

Bollywood actress and now mother Soha Ali Khan reveals her struggle has been with her profession as an actor.

At the launch of her first book "The Perils of Being Moderately Famous" here on Tuesday, Soha was questioned about the toughest chapter to write.

She revealed, "The toughest chapter to write was probably the one called 'Working Actor'. The other chapters sort of fell together in place, but really, my struggle has been with my profession as an actor, which is such an important part of my life. The insecurities coming along with it, comparisons that are made which are very difficult to live up to and I feel there is a very big shoe to fill. I also feel that striking the right tone with readers about my failures, insecurities and the learning step that come across, but at the same time, not being too hard on myself, was most difficult thing for me."

Asked what prompted her to write a book, Soha disclosed, "Earlier, I have written a couple of columns and essays, but to write 40,000-50,000 words is a huge task. I wanted to write non-fiction because I don't have the imagination for creative fiction. I felt certain things about my life that I could draw from and that might be humorous. It is interesting to be me who belongs to this family of actors and the kind of experiences I had about education, travel and love. So, I did share that with some of my family members and friends. My family and friends are not the kind of people who blindly praise me. There was a lot of constructive feedback and it was more or less encouraging that's how I wrote this book".

Soha, in her book, didn't hesitate to disclose some unknown facts about her life.

"At the moment, project Inaaya (daughter) is taking all my time and after that, I will be doing 'Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster 3 ' next.", ended conversation.

I am sort of still coming to terms with the fact that I’m a mother, reveals Soha Ali Khan!

Bollywood stars Soha Ali Khan and husband Kunal Kemmu welcomed their lovely daughter, Inaaya Naumi Kemmu on 29th September, 2017. The doting parents have shared some snapshots on their social media accounts in which we can see a glimpse of their daughter.

Soha Ali Khan was live on Instagram lately to discuss her book, The Perils of being moderately famous and she interacted with her admirers through it.

When questioned about motherhood, Soha revealed, “I am doing well and it’s definitely life altering. I am sort of still coming to terms with the fact that I’m a mother. We’re in my house right now and she is sleeping 200 meters away from me.  But, it’s just such a momentous feeling to become a mother; to having created a life firstly and then to be responsible for protecting that life. It’s a huge responsibility. Kunal and I are new to it, first time mother, and first time father. It’s not like we have joint families where you have people helping out all the time. It’s just the two of us and some help. So, we’re figuring it out, a day at a time. My health is good, I am feeling good. I haven’t slept very much, in the past 6 weeks. I could do with some more sleep.”

I belong to a family where everyone is a bit of superstar, reveals Soha Ali Khan!

Bollywood actress Soha Ali Khan has turned author with her first book, The Perils Of Being Moderately Famous. The book will be out in December. In the book, the actor-turned-author speaks about her experiences as a ‘modern-day princess’ to her days at college to starting her career as a management associate and then to her life as a film celeb.

For Soha, this book is a way to divulge her ‘real self’ to the world. She revealed a tabloid, ''A lot of people have misconceptions about who I am as a person, what kind of upbringing I had, and how’s it belonging to a famous family where everyone is a bit of a superstar — my brother (actor Saif Ali Khan), mother (actor Sharmila Tagore), father (Nawab Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi) and sister-in-law (actor Kareena Kapoor Khan). But when they meet me, they are like ‘You aren’t like what I expected’. I thought it would be nice to give people an insight into what it’s like to be me.''

Speaking about how the idea came about to write a book, Soha told, “I was a student of History in college, so we had to write a lot of essays, and since then a lot of people said you write so well, you should write a book someday. Of course, I love reading, but I have always said that there’s a great difference between being a good reader and being able to write.”

“There are chapters from my life — childhood and college days, travel, films, the Pataudi lineage, and our relationship with [legendary author] Rabindranath Tagore,” she added.

Asked about the interesting title, she replied, “Everyone in my family is an achiever, but though not entirely non-famous, I am certainly not of that calibre of fame”, and hence the title ‘moderately famous’.”, she added further.

Soha Ali Khan’s new boss!

Bollywood actress Soha Ali Khan is relishing motherhood as she welcomed a baby girl named Inaaya Naumi Kemmu on September 29, 2017. She has been loving this beautiful phase with her husband Kunal Kemmu and has even been sharing a few photographs of the lovely moments of the family.

Lately, when Soha was questioned about her life post becoming a mother, she specified to a tabloid, "The first week after leaving the hospital was terrifying. Earlier, you lived in joint families. Now it’s just Kunal and I at home. Of course, my mother came for some time and his parents also dropped by. Also his sister, my sister and sister-in-law dropped by."

Soha further added, "But ultimately it is just us at home. So it’s quite different. The obvious change for me is that I am used to being in control of things. I am a control freak. I like to plan and organise things, whether it’s fitness, eating on time and getting my ten hours of sleep. All of that has gone out of the window. I’m no longer the boss, Inaya is. Life revolves around her."

Lately, during an interaction with a daily, she spoke about Inaaya Naumi Kemmu saying, "There's no question of dividing my time because Inaaya takes up all my time."

She further told, "Since I was the youngest in my family, I never had to change a diaper before. My sister, Saba, helped look after me, my brother, Saif, probably helped look after Saba, I didn't have to look after anyone. Now, suddenly, I have a baby who is dependent on me for food and comfort. She can't even scratch herself and I feel so responsible for this life!"

At first I thought Inaaya Naumi Kemmu looked like an alien, reveals Kunal Kemmu!

Bollywood stars Kunal Kemmu and Soha Ali Khan have been blessed with a baby girl on September 29, 2017 and named the little bundle of joy, Inaaya Naumi Kemmu. Kunal posted, "We are over the moon thrilled and delighted to share that we have been blessed with a beautiful baby girl on this very auspicious day. Soha and our gorgeous baby are doing well. We thank you for your kind wishes, love and blessings."

In an interview with a daily, Kunal shared that he is trying to be a hands-on-father and is happy how Soha is handling it all by herself. He revealed, "It was me who named her. Both me and Soha had our list of baby names and we decided to go ahead with Inaya Naumi Kemmu. We named here Inaya Naumi as she was born on 'Naumi'.

He added later, "She is just 11 days old and is sleeping for most part of the day. She is a good kid and is very quiet. She does not cry at all. Touchwood. Her eyes are shut all the time, but she looks damn adorable when she opens her eyes. At first I thought she looked like an alien, but then that's how most of the babies look. Her cousin Taimur had been over to meet her, but he didn't give any particular reaction and we didn't expect either as he is a baby too. He either laughs or cries after meeting people, but he enjoys whenever I pick him up and play with him."

Speaking about new mommy Soha, he revealed, "I love it how Soha is managing being a mother all by herself. There are sleepless nights, but she does not complain even a bit. As a father, I make sure that I wind up my work and reach home on time.”

Kunal Kemmu and I are spending time with Taimur, says pregnant Soha Ali Khan!

Actress Soha Ali Khan is all set to become a mother by the end of this month. She and husband Kunal Kemmu are happy for this beautiful chapter in their life and have been speaking about it whole heartedly.

Lately, Soha spoke at length about it to a leading magazine. She specified, "I believe this is a natural culmination of the commitment and bond that Kunal and I share. It’s a miracle to be able to create life within you. It took a while for the news to sink in. At first, there was a kind of paralysing shock and then a surge of both excitement and fear about all that lay ahead. It helps when you have an equally excited and nervous partner and a super supportive family. I couldn’t wait to share the news with them, especially my mother (Sharmila Tagore) and my mother-in-law (Jyoti Kemmu). Also, when Kunal and I first heard the heartbeat at the foetal scan – it was the sweetest music to our ears! I’ve always believed that a woman is complete by herself. She doesn’t necessarily need a husband and child to complete her. Which is why I was in no rush to get married or have children. But now that Kunal and I are on this journey, I’m ready to embrace a new identity as a mother. I’m the youngest amongst my siblings. So I’ve never had to look after anyone or be responsible for anyone. I’ve no idea what to expect. I’m just focusing on keeping healthy, eating well, staying positive and happy."

When Soha was asked about how excited her family is about her pregnancy, she told, "Every single member of the family has been so concerned. Kareena (Kapoor Khan) has been through this herself recently, so she’s all the more excited for me. She always checks on me. She sends me salmon and healthy desserts and warns me not to overdo things. My mother is a little anxious. She worries about my health and wants everything to go smoothly. Bhai (Saif Ali Khan) is thrilled to be an uncle soon. In fact, he had told me last year that it’s something he’s looking forward to. The timing is great because Taimur and his cousin will grow up together. My sister (Saba) looked after me when I was a baby – changing diapers and all. So I’m going to depend on her a fair bit. Kunal’s mum has knitted an entire collection of sweaters. Everyone from Kunal’s grandparents to his sister is impatient to spoil the baby."

And finally, she concluded by telling, "Kunal and I are not huge planners. We take it a day at a time. Of course, there are certain things like some basic shopping, building a nursery and looking for nurses/attendants...which we’re looking into. We’re spending time with Taimur and with our other close friends who have babies. I’m convinced Kunal is natural and will take to fatherhood easily."

Soha Ali Khan flaunts her baby bump on the occasion of International Yoga Day!

Bollywood actress Soha Ali Khan is all set to embrace motherhood and is enjoying her pregnancy. The actor along with her husband Kunal Kemmu and his family went to London for a vacation and truly had a fun time there. She has been making sure to enjoy her pregnancy like never before.

Recently, on the occasion of International Yoga Day, Soha posted a couple of pictures flaunting her cute baby bump. In the picture, she is seen doing a yoga asana while holding her bump.

When you pair families together, they are gimmicky stunts, says Sharmila Tagore on doing a movie with Saif and Soha!

We have not seen the veteran actress Sharmila Tagore in a Bollywood film from some times.

When a famous tabloid questioned about her absence from flicks, Sharmila Tagore told, "It’s not that I don’t like working in films. I do, and to act in a film, right from start camera to cut is beautiful. The kind of films Ratna Pathak Shah is doing are really nice. I thought she was brilliant in Kapoor & Sons, so there is some kind of recognition for elderly roles today. But the truth is, I have got lots of interesting stuff also going on and I keep myself engaged in that. It doesn’t mean that if I don’t work in films, I have nothing to offer. I am happy and contented so only if there’s a very good role, will I take it up. I have done it all and have a lot of experience, so I am not that interested to be involved. There’s a whole world out there to experience besides films."

Sharmila is the mother of three children - Saif Ali Khan, Soha Ali Khan and Saba Ali Khan. Saif and Soha have both followed their mother's paths and Saif has even worked with his mom in two movies - Aashiq Awara and Eklavya. So would she like to work with Saif as well as Soha in a movie? To this, she told, "I don’t think so. We haven’t been offered one till now and also, as actors, we are selfish people and want to bring our best elements to screen with the best roles. When you pair families together, they are gimmicky stunts and don’t work unless the director of the film feels that the script and characters deserve that and we all fit in organically. It also depends on the audience and whether they want to see us together."

When questioned about not being in social media, the actress told, "Neither is Saif, Saba, or Kareena. I think social media is a way of people wanting to keep in touch but I feel that it’s an ongoing thing. I like my privacy and being on my own. I really don’t have the time doing so much. I absolutely don’t want to come on social media. I am more interested in the real world like seeing the sunset, or the trees. I love my garden, I love my friends, sitting and chatting with them and playing Scrabble, instead of the virtual world. I want to keep it like that. I want to have more time there. The girls are very tech-savvy and can do it very quickly, but I won’t even know how to do it. For me, even sending an SMS is a pain. I just want to pick up the phone and talk. I don’t like to look at the screen all the time. Too much time is taken and everybody is consulting Google and all and if I know a little bit, it’s fine. I don’t have to know everything. Everybody wants to be on top of things but for me those gaps in knowledge are fine. There’s a kind of fever where everybody wants to keep abreast of everything.
