Barkha Sengupta’s NO to work with Shaheer Sheikh for Mughal-E-Azam’s TV remake!

Television is going to witness the TV remake of Bollywood's classic film Mughal-E-Azam. The role of Salim will be essayed by TV's favourite actor, Shaheer Sheikh.

Lately, actress Barkha Sengupta was approached by the makers of the magnum-opus to play the role of Jodha Bai, who was Salim's mother. The actress even gave a look test and was quite kicked about the show, but turned it down later, when she got to know that she will have to play Shaheer Sheikh's mother.

Barkha has previously essayed a mother on-screen, so she does not have a problem in doing that again. She just didn't want to play a mother to a 34-year-old man, when she herself is 38-year-old.

When questioned to comment on the matter, Barkha revealed a tabloid, "I do not want to play a mother to such a big boy because I don't think I would physically look the age and thus, would not be able to justify the character."

Presently, Barkha is a mother of a 6-year-old girl in real.

Shaheer, unlike before seemed to be noticeably in a not so good mood. While interacting with him we realized that he was simply annoyed by the 'Imaginative' (as he terms them to be) news about him and Erica that was making rounds.

When we enquired him and the beautiful Erica about the same, the two just didn't know how to react. "People come up with such weird stories which are purely imaginative and I don't know how to react, to laugh or what," told Shaheer. 

"I feel so blessed to have Erica as my co-actor who is so helpful. I mean I have seen a lot of actors having ego issues in between them and their costars. But here, we absolutely do not have any issues. Not just me and Erica, everybody on sets is like a family. You can drop in on sets anytime and see, that we are very cool with each other. We play pranks, we have fun, we trouble each other. We are like a family. So when someone writes something purely imaginative, I don't know what to say, probably just can laugh." told Shaheer. Erica who looked equally irritated told, "I have never felt so comfortable with anyone before. There is no tantrum, no ego, it's very smooth and easy to work. There's a lot of understanding between us too. We can only laugh on such rumors."
