Rani Gets Backup in Mardaani 3: Shaitaan Fame Janki Bodiwala Signs On!

Rani Gets Backup in Mardaani 3: Janki Bodiwala Signs On!

The YRF-produced police thriller Mardaani became a great hit in 2014 when Rani Mukerji replaced Shivani Shivaji Roy. The actress returned five years later with the sequel of the movie, Mardaani 2, which was another big box office success. According to earlier reports, Yash Raj Films is ready to release the third installment of Indian cinema's first female-driven series, which is being helmed by Rani Mukerji. Since then, the public has been calling for the third part of the Mardaani franchise. The producers of the Abhiraj Minawala-directed film said that it will be released during Holi in 2026, having started production earlier this year.

A recent media report claims that Janki Bodiwala has been cast by Aditya Chopra in a crucial role in Mardaani 3. “After winning over the audience with Shaitaan, Janki has bagged a very important role in Mardaani 3. Adi Chopra, and Rani Mukerji were impressed by her performance in Shaitaan, and have cast her to play an important part in Mardaani 3. She will be seen as a cop in the film. She has already started shooting for the film in Mumbai,” revealed a source with knowledge of the development.

The insider continued by saying that Mardaani's third chapter, which addresses a significant societal topic as usual, is the most intense. “The entire team at YRF is very responsible in taking the Mardaani franchise forward. They want to better the audience experience with every film of this much-loved franchise. The team have ensured that the script is solid and written keeping the present sensibilities of cinema-going audience in mind,” the source further revealed.

Despite making her Hindi film debut in Shaitaan, Janki Bodiwala has been involved in the Gujarati film business. On the other hand, Yash Raj Films is getting ready to premiere four feature films on the big screen. July 18 will see the release of Saiyara, August 14 for War 2, December 25 for Alpha, and February 27 for Mardaani 3. In addition, YRF is producing blockbuster action films like Dhoom 4 and Pathaan 2.

Saif Ali Khan's reunion with Aditya Chopra for Bunty Aur Babli 2!

Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan is ready to reunite again with Rani Mukerji. Both are all set to create magic onscreen with their chemistry in Bunty Aur Babli 2. Bunty Aur Babli 2 not only marks his collaboration with Rani but also with filmmaker Aditya Chopra.

On working with Aditya all over again, Saif revealed, "We had a couple of disagreements in the past and I think he was slightly disappointed with my attitude towards certain things and we hadn’t worked together in a very long time. This just meant that there’s peace again and everything is fine. That is the most important aspect of this.”

He further revealed, "I have produced films, (I can say that) it’s really a relief to work with someone who has all the headache of choosing the right music, figuring out how to shoot and release it and you just do your work as an actor. I mean getting an SMS from Adi saying ‘Welcome back home’ means a lot to me.”

Speaking about Bunty Aur Babli, the original film starred Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji and Amitabh Bachchan in lead roles; but, the sequel stars Saif instead of Abhishek and will also star Siddhant Chaturvedi and Sharvari Wagh.

Saif to replace original Bunty Abhishek in sequel!

Last week I told you how Gully Boy’s Siddhant Chaturvedi and the newbie Sharvari had been cast in Yash Raj Films’ Bunty Aur Babli sequel.

Now I can reveal that the Varun Sharma-directed crime-comedy will also star Rani Mukerji and Saif Ali Khan as a second con-couple! FYI, Abhishek Bachchan was offered the chance to reprise his character from the 2005 hit but things didn’t work out, which is when Saif stepped into his shoes. Here’s hoping the new out-and-out entertainer is as hilarious as the original was!

Rani Mukerji becomes a teacher with Tourette syndrome problem!

Rani will next be seen in Hichki which traces the journey of an adorable teacher who suffers from Tourette syndrome. Finally, she gets admitted to one of the schools but has to deal with a set of municipal students who no one wants to teach.

Finally, we get to see the journey of the teacher as well as the misfit students who try to find their place in the world.

In the meantime, when Rani was questioned about her comeback previously, the actress specified, "I was looking for a script that would challenge and excite me, and Hichki came my way. Each one of us has a weakness that pulls us back, it could be a disability or any condition but if we just look at it as simply a hiccup, we can emerge as a winner. It won't come in the way of achieving your dreams. Hichki is built on this positive premise and I have decided to take it up."

Rani Mukerji opens about her husband’s absence from social media!

Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji will soon be seen making a comeback with her forthcoming movie Hichki. The actor, who is wedded to Aditya Chopra, is not on social media and doesn't quite misses it.

In a chat to a channel, Rani spoke in a length about a number of things including the social media trends which has become so flourishing nowadays.

She recalled about the time when actors were considered unreachable and the love letters she used to receive from admirers and how time has evolved since then.

"I think at that time, the actors, the stars were still up in the galaxy. People thought they were inaccessible. People thought that they are stars, we cannot see or touch them, hence we will see them in the theatres. Now, things have changed. I have been a part of the change myself, have seen both the sides of the coin," she revealed.

She further added, "I was there during the time when things were changing when the stars from the galaxy started descending into their bedrooms. Stars have become accessible now. People today don't look at stars like someone who is inaccessible. Earlier stars were looked upon like 'Wow' but today they are looked as humans."

She further revealed about the social media trolls. "The fans with whom we used to have a love story earlier have now become hate story. Actors are getting trolled on social media. Thank God I am not there, she said.

Further, she explained the reason for being away from social media.

"In my case, because I am married to a very private person, who is not Mr. India (unlike popular belief) and he is not only seen through the red glass, I can see him without them too. I think I consciously chose not to be on social media because then you cannot choose that this is the only part of me that I would like to give my fans because you are answerable to all of them. For me, my existence today is that yes I am married, I have a daughter and if my fans ask me for their pictures, revealing something about my personal life, I don't have a complete say. I cannot suddenly ask my husband to become a media savvy person. It is not possible. If I say NO to one fan, that fan might get delusional, so my thing is completely different. I don't mind giving my pictures 24/7 because I am in this field and used to it but I can't take responsibility if they ask me for my husband's pictures or if they tell me to show Adira's pictures. I can't do that because her father also takes certain decisions for her."

Know about Rani Mukerji’s first word of daughter Adira!

Gorgeous Rani Mukerji's adorable daughter Adira is assuredly the apple of her eye. Rani, on her birthday this year, had conducted a Facebook chat with her fans and in that she had spoken about several things that her daughter Adira loves doing.

Now, Rani is gearing up for her comeback movie Hitchki. The film has been pronounced and has gone on-floors already. Given that Rani cannot stay away from Adira for long, one wonders if she would take her daughter along to the set. When Rani was asked about this by a famous tabloid, she told, "If you put your child in a space where he or she is not comfortable, the child is going to be irritated and throw a fit. Especially when the child cannot express that in words. When she starts talking then she can express things to me. Right now the only communication she has is through expressions... and a few words.. She says a lot of things. ‘Mama’ was her first word. She also says ‘Papa’, ‘Nana’, ‘tortoise’, ‘turtle’, and ‘tractor’!"

Earlier, when the lovely actress was questioned if now her husband Aditya will be more involved with Adira since she would be busy shooting, she had told, "I think it will be the same. Adi is too involved in his work. He probably leaves last from the office and now, I am trying to change that because he has to understand he has a child waiting for him at home. Now, every day, I manage his time so that he comes back at a time when Adira has not yet slept."

She further added, "In the morning, he has his time with Adira. He has breakfast with her and he takes her for a walk. I am trying to inculcate that in him, so the bond grows and he keeps teasing me, ‘Once Adira grows up, she is going to be my baby and my girl. Enjoy the time now.’ He is crazy about her, but I would not say that his life revolves around Adira now. But I would say he is getting there."

I want Adira to be proud of having a working mother, says Rani Mukerji!

Actress Rani Mukerji has turned a year older now. Ahead of her birthday, the beautiful actress gave an interview to a famous tabloid where she spoke about making a comeback with Hitchki, being blessed with Adira and how motherhood has changed her.

When questioned if she had planned such a long break, since her last movie Mardaani happened in 2014, Rani told, "I’d decided to take a break for one year because I wanted to give my child that much time. I wanted to be a part of each milestone in my baby’s life — from the first word to the first step, etc. I would’ve hated it if she’d done something for the first time and I missed it."

Remarkably, a lot of doctors believe that a mother-child bond develops more in the first six months. Quiz Rani about it and she confesses, "A lot of mothers go back to work in the third or fourth month after delivery. I don’t think there is any issue of her bonding with her child. For me, it was not about being told it’s going to be good for me or my baby or because it was the done thing. I chose it. I wanted to spend that time with Adira because that gave me happiness. If something else gave me that happiness, I would’ve done that."

She continues, "Carrying a child is such a great feeling. I have not experienced anything close to it in the 22 years of my work life. This feeling is way greater than any feeling I’ve ever had. All my achievements dimmed in comparison to what I felt when I gave birth to Adira. You know, slowly, I am discovering so many fascinating things in Adira which makes me feel, ‘God! why didn’t I have children earlier? I would have had more'."

Now that she is all set to be back on the sets, probe her if she feels awkward, as most working mothers do and pat comes the reply from Rani, "I have spent so much quality time with Adira that I am not going to feel that guilt. I have tried to make a shift in such a way that I am not with her when she is busy. Then during her playtime, I will be back with her, so she does not register my time away that much. Or that is what I am hoping for... I don’t know how it’s going to be. I am dreading it. I am mentally preparing myself for the eight or nine hours I have to give to my work every day. When they cast me, they were like, ‘Rani ko lekar kaam karenge’. I keep praying to God everyday ki aisa nahi ho ki they say, ‘kyun le liya yaar, kisi aur ko le lete!"

With Rani already beginning preparation for Hitchki, one visibly is happy to know if the actress would be doing more movies henceforth. Quiz her about it and the pretty lady tells, "No. It is about doing a film every year. I don’t want to do four films a year. I don’t want to take away anything from my motherhood, and from my time with Adira. I will plan my life in such a way that I will work and give my 100 percent to her. Because when she grows up, I want her to be proud of having a working mother. I hope she respects me for that. I hope she doesn’t feel that I dedicated all my time to my work. When she is 18, I want her to tell me, ‘I loved that you balanced life. You worked and you made your fans happy, you made yourself happy, and you were there for me when I needed you and you were there even when I didn’t need you.’ I want to be a working professional all my life. It is important, and I am thankful to Adi for forcing me back."

Adi is a better husband than a father, says Rani Mukerji on her husband!

Talking of Adira, a famous tabloid asked Rani if her husband Aditya Chopra's involvement with Adira will increase now that she is back to work. To this, Rani responded, "I think it will be the same.

On if Aditya is a better husband than a father, Rani specified to the tabloid, "Adi is a better husband than a father, definitely. Till now at least, and I hope that he remains a better husband. Sharing her joy, Rani further added that she feels like her new life has started after she gave birth to Adira.

"It is said that the child gives birth to a mother, similarly, Adhira gave birth to a mother in me. It's amazing being a mother, you change overnight. I think I have changed a bit, I have become stronger and I have mellowed down as well. When you become a mother, it is an amazing feeling, I am looking forward to my journey of raising Adira, so it's going to be fun," told Rani.

She further added that the last two and half years have been the happiest phase of her life. "Just enjoying being with her (Adira), seeing all her milestone one after another. I think for a woman/ girl there is nothing as important and fulfilling as being a mother and I am enjoying being a mother right now," an overjoyed Rani specified.

Rani and Aditya Chopra became proud parents of baby Adira in December 2015.

On the film front, Rani will be returning to the silver screens with her comeback movie Hichki, which is expected to release later this year.

RGV’s legal trouble for making remark on Sunny Leon!

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma and his nasty Twitter ways are known to all. The director has time and again landed into trouble for his offensive tirades on social media. RGV has now come under fire for his controversial tweet on International Women’s Day.

As the world celebrated the true spirit of womanhood, RGV took to his Twitter account and posted, “I wish all the women in the world give as much happiness as Sunny Leone gives.”

In the outcome of which the Twitterati gave it back to him instantly and even went on to suggest that he must say these to his mother and daughters as well.

And now if a famous news agency is to be believed, a complaint has been registered against the 54-year-old director over his sexist tweet.

The case has been filed by an activist, Vishaka Mhambre, in Goa.

The news agency posted, “Complaint filed against Director Ramgopal Verma by activist Vishaka Mhambre in Goa over his tweet on women #womensday.”

But, clearly unaffected by it, RGV termed the complaint as an overreaction and responded by telling, “Filing counter against Over Activist wid 212 followers which wud b her family n friends, for disrespecting 18 lakh followers of @SunnyLeone.”

The director also addressed the trollers and posted, “Only God nd Social media numbers r true judges nd who disagree shud check no, of @SunnyLeone followers with their own numbers b4 they tweet.”

He also posted, “My mom, sister, daughter and my grandmother mainly respect me for my honesty in openly expressing my respect towards @SunnyLeone 's honesty.”
