Saif to replace original Bunty Abhishek in sequel!

Last week I told you how Gully Boy’s Siddhant Chaturvedi and the newbie Sharvari had been cast in Yash Raj Films’ Bunty Aur Babli sequel.

Now I can reveal that the Varun Sharma-directed crime-comedy will also star Rani Mukerji and Saif Ali Khan as a second con-couple! FYI, Abhishek Bachchan was offered the chance to reprise his character from the 2005 hit but things didn’t work out, which is when Saif stepped into his shoes. Here’s hoping the new out-and-out entertainer is as hilarious as the original was!

Siddhant Chaturvedi and Sharvari Wagh to play young Bunty Aur Babli!

A sequel to Bunty Aur Babli has begun production on the sly!

It seems Yash Raj Films quietly got Bunty Aur Babli 2.0 up and running last week, with Rani Mukerji set to be the only member of the original cast returning for round 2. The comedy will be helmed by the newbie Varun S Sharma, who has worked as an AD on films like Kill Dil and Sultan but is best known for writing Bharat. The movie will be about Bunty Aur Babli coming out of retirement to solve a spate of robberies and will star Siddhant Chaturvedi and Sharvari Wagh as the young chors. I hope it’s as good as the original was!

Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukherji are again couple for Bunty Aur Babli?

For months there’s been buzz that Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukherji will become Bunty Aur Babli again for a sequel to the 2005 crime comedy.

Now I hear that the film is actually set to roll within the next few weeks with a plot that picks up 14 years after the original ended! Apparently this time around Bunty and Babli will be on the other side of the law, playing cops who use their own experiences to track down a younger Bonnie and Clyde! It sounds like the sequel will prove to have been worth the wait!
