Rakul Preet Singh’s confession on losing films due to nepotism!

Rakul Preet Singh, who has previously appeared in Tamil and Telugu films, made her Bollywood debut with 2014's Yaariyan. She has appeared in various Hindi films, such as De De Pyaar De, Runway 34, Doctor G, Thank God, and Chhatriwali. Rakul is now preparing for De De Pyaar De 2, opposite Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan. The actress recently spoke about nepotism and why she isn't bitter about missed opportunities in her career.

Rakul Preet Singh highlighted nepotism in a media interview and admitted to having lost films. Rakul recalls her father telling her about his army experience after she expressed interest in entering. The actress dislikes being bitter because she believes those projects "weren't meant for her".

"I had to go into the army, my dad would share his experience with me. So nepotism, I don't think too much of (it). Yes, ye hota hai, filmein lee gayi hain but I am not the kind of person jo bitter hoke beth jaayega (It happens, I have lost films...I am not the kind of person who will end up feeling bitter), may be it was not meant for me," Rakul disclosed.

The Doctor G actress emphasized that missing opportunities is unavoidable, and that you can only progress if you accept it. Rakul agreed with her judgment and presented a hypothetical instance from the medical sector. Rakul noted that it is common for a doctor to be unable to attend a board meeting and to be replaced by someone else.

Rakul went on to declare that she believes in helping her future children in need and that she will not turn it down. The actress stated that she would not invite them to wait in line and try their luck. The De De Pyaar De star has also indicated that she will do her best to assist them. The 33-year-old actress made the connection by suggesting that a star child's "easy access" to the film industry is a result of his or her parents' hard work.

Rakul Preet is expected to film her next De De Pyaar De 2 schedule in Punjab, alongside co-stars Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan.

Recently, in a media chat, Aadar has spoken about nepotism, how he met casting director Shanoo Sharma and more. Aadar confessed that he got the chance to be an assistant director to ace filmmakers like Karan Johar and Farah Khan. But, he believes that finally to create a space in the industry one need to work hard and talent is also important.

He also revealed that he understood that people thought the opportunities came to him easily as he is the late legendary actor-filmmaker Raj Kapoor’s grandson. “I can agree with them to a certain extent that maybe you have a foot in the door; you can call a producer, a director, you have people’s numbers on your phone. But finally, you have to show your hard work, you have to show your talent,” he further revealed. The actor also told that he feels the odds are really the same for everyone.

“I’ll give you an example. Many people ask me about this. Yes, I got the opportunity to assist big directors like Karan Johar and Farah Khan, who were big directors that my mother and family have known for many years,” Aadar further told.

When Suniel Shetty, who was an outsider to the industry, was questioned on the same, he told, "I am someone who treats everybody the same. My daughter had her first chance, but her second film is very much because of her own merit, because of the patience that she has her thought process. It’s fantastic. I came through a struggle and if my kids have a certain advantage then why not. Every child looks at his father and that’s exactly what the father showcases. A politician’s son wants to be a politician, a CEO’s son wants to be a CEO. Why are we separating, alienating and running down cinema?”

Athiya made her Bollywood debut opposite Sooraj Pancholi under Salman Khan's production banner. 

“The debate on nepotism is there because stars get spoken about. Why don’t they talk about anything else? Because nobody reads. It’s TRPs, eyeballs, it’s bullshit and all created. I have seen that struggle and I am helping those kids, who are going through that struggle. So, why will I believe in that (nepotism)? Why doesn’t everyone start doing that? Support new talent,” Suniel told.

Speaking about his upcoming projects, the veteran actor told, "I have been getting a lot of offers. I will sit down and analyse. I have one-two big films. I want to play my age, I don’t want to do anything that doesn’t suit me. If you give me a father’s role, I will do it. I am a father in real life so, I will do that on screen as well."
