I'm the first one to admit that Mirzya was a flawed film, admits Harshvardhan Kapoor!

Harshvardhan Kapoor's debut movie Mirzya failed to strike a chord with the viewers. But, Kapoor guy is unperturbed by the failure. In a frank talk session with a famous tabloid, Harsh opened up Mirzya's failure and how he is moving on with it.

"To be honest, I wasn't expecting Mirzya to set the box office on fire. Obviously, it would have been nicer had it opened with slightly better numbers. It wasn't a commercial film and it's safe to say that now. Actually, you don't know what is mainstream and what is not until it's really put out there. I'm also in a way discovering the sensibilities of the audience as I go along."

Harshvardhan further included, "I'm not saying Mirzya was a perfect film. In fact, I'm the first one to admit that it was a flawed film. But most films are flawed. It was visually enchanting and musically stunning, though. And as newcomers, we didn't do anything glamorous or starry in it. I had dirt all over and sported a full grown beard. Rajasthani stable boys and warriors are like that. So, the learning is that you go from story to story. I understand people universally couldn't connect much with the movie. Some people liked it and they did let me know. My next with Vikramaditya Motwane is a lot more accessible in that sense."

On Motwane's movie, seemingly titled Bhavesh Joshi, the actor told, "I have shot half of the film; it's Vikram's most commercial film to date."

Mirzya is not for everyone, says Harshvardhan Kapoor on film failure!

Harshvardhan Kapoor is not disheartened with his debut movie "Mirzya" failing to make a mark at the box-office. The actor admits the failure, and tells that the film is not for everyone.

"Well, obviously 'Mirzya' didn't do well at the box-office which is fine. It's not a film for everybody," Harshvardhan told.

He further added, "Every film has its own destiny. I feel 'Mirzya' is a work of art. It is a beautiful film and it will find its place in course of time."

The son of actor Anil Kapoor spoke about the Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's ambitious project at the red carpet of Filmfare Glamour & Style Awards on Saturday night.

Apart from Harshvardhan, "Mirzya" marked debut of Saiyami Kher, and narrated Mehra's take on the folklore of Mirza-Sahiba.

Harshvardhan feels "the audience is used to seeing newcomers presented in a certain way".

"I didn't do any of the conventional things. In terms of look or the character, I kept a huge beard and played a rustic character. Moreover, the love story is explained through its music so there is a lot of new things for viewers to take," told the 25-year-old.

At present, Harshvardhan is concentrating on his next project "Bhavesh Joshi".

Link-Up stories are half the time created, tells Harshvardhan Kapoor!

Anil Kapoor's son Harshvardhan Kapoor has made his Bollywood debut with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's musical drama Mirzya. Saiyami Kher is costar of Harshvardhan Kapoor in film Mirzya.

While usually link-up stories start floating as soon as a film's promotions start, surprisingly there have not been any such rumors about these two young actors. When requested to comment on it, Kapoor said, ''there are no link-up reports firstly because we don't go out much and we do our own thing, secondly because linkup stories are half the time created, which we are not going to do and then because we are not together.''

Theater artist Saiyami Kher auditioned for six months to select as Mirzya’s lady!

Newcomer Saiyami Kher is all set to mark her big Bollywood debut with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's Mirzya, which releases this weekend but, she didn't always want to be an actress.

When the curly-haired beauty was asked if she always wanted to be an actress, she told, ''My life revolves around sports. I used to play competitive badminton and cricket so acting wasn't my career of choice since childhood but when I came to Mumbai and I was studying in Xavier's that's where I think the bug bit me because I started doing a lot of theater workshops.''

Revealing how she bagged the lead role in Mirzya, she said us, ''It was a very long journey. I auditioned for almost six months. After almost 12 screen tests, when sir (Mehra) was fully sure, he signed me.''

Kher will be seen romancing Harshvardhan Kapoor in Mirzya, which is inspired by the Punjabi folklore of Mirza Sahiban.

Harshvardhan Kapoor and Saiyami Kher show their bonding over horses!

After enthralling music lovers with their exciting title track and romantic number Chakora, the makers of Mirzya have now released the video of the third song from the film's album, titled aave re hitchki and we are sure that like the previous two tracks, this one too will garner a lot of appreciation from the viewers.

The song features the film's lead pair, Harshvardhan Kapoor and Saiyami Kher and it shows them bonding over horses. Harshvardhan, who is playing a stable boy, is seen teaching his ladylove how to ride a horse and the chemistry between the twosomes, whilst they train together, is unquestionable.

With his intense look and charismatic on-screen presence, Harshvardhan is unquestionably a talent to watch out for. His rugged and raw look is already making many a woman go weak in their knees and this song only makes him look all the more desirable. Now ladies, don't we all want a guy, who would take care of us the way he looks after his on-screen love in the song?

Saiyami draws attention with her unusual looks and energetic personality. She is charming on-screen and wows with her million dollar smile. The song is a ballad, which beautifully expresses a lover's helplessness as he is far away from his beloved and his longing and adoration for her. With its soul stirring music and lyrics, this song will definitely strike a chord with hardcore romantics.

Veteran lyricist Gulzar has once more weaved magic with his words and Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy have infused them with their soulful music. Mame Khan and Shankar Mahadevan have lent their voices to the song.

Inspired by the Punjabi folklore of Mirza Sahiban, the movie has been directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and is slated to release on October 7.
