Actress Freida Pinto who is presently expecting her first child with Cory Tran, recently confirmed on The Kelly Clarkson show that she clandestinely tied the knot with fiance Cory Tran amid COVID-19 lockdown. Pinto disclosed that she got married at Honda Center in Anaheim, California and even took an 'afternoon nap' after returning home from the wedding.

Furthermore, Freida told, "It’s a very romantic story if you must know. Of course, when we got engaged we thought we’d have this most magical wedding. I should clear the air. I wasn’t planning a big fat Indian wedding. It was just going to be something pretty and simple…But then COVID happened and it’s still happening and we just realized we were going to be planning this for the rest of our lives and probably never do it."

Freida Pinto is excited to be a part of big Hollywood film Mowgli!

Nowadays, Freida Pinto is in India to promote her forthcoming movie Love Sonia. While relishing the aamchi Mumbai food, rains and well almost everything Bollywood, Freida Pinto talks about the movie. In a chat, Freida Pinto revealed, “I promoted Trishna too which was in Hindi and English, the difference here is that I’ve been involved with and passionate about this project for the last 10 years so to finally talk about Love Sonia is very fulfilling. It feels like bringing a baby into the world.”

After Love Sonia, Speaking about her next film Mowgli, Freida reveals, “As a child I remember the jingle, ‘Jungle Jungle Baat Chali Hai’ and when I heard that Andy Serkis, with whom I’d done Rise of the Planet of the Apes, was directing Mowgli, I told my agent that I didn’t care if I was there for a second, I wanted to be a part of this film as Jungle Book is a story I’ve grown up on. Andy was very welcoming, saying he had just the role for me, that of Mowgli’s adopted mother, Messua. And the best part is that I get to play my part in Hindi in a big Hollywood film.”

Freida Pinto’s “Zero Waste Zero Hunger, Eat like a star” Mantra!

India-born US-based star Freida Pinto says wastage of food is not at all glamorous, adding that instead of dumping leftovers one should give it to someone.

Taking forward this thought, Freida joined hands with a San Francisco-based food recovery technology company called Copia to ensure that no food was wasted at this years' Oscars party.

Copia is known for providing restaurants or party organizers with pick-up and delivery facilities, and also help them package and distribute leftover food. Freida, also known for her active participation in social initiatives like Girl Rising, is happy to do her bit for the society.

"When Awards Week gives back - food that would have otherwise been wasted has now been shared and connected with the LA LGBT Center, just 3.3 miles away from the event in Los Angeles. Wastage isn't glamorous, feeding people is! Zero Waste Zero Hunger, Eat like a star," Freida wrote on Instagram last week.

Freida also added, "The stories that feed our culture has now fed over 800 people. Sharing excess food to feed our community is a no-brainer. Thank you Film independent Spirit Awards Go Copia LA mission for making this happen!"

She also took the initiative to Oscars, which was held here on February 26.

Freida wrote, "So excited to be kicking off Oscar weekend with this fantastic initiative. This year Copia and I team up with some of Oscar weekends biggest parties to recover excess food and deliver it to communities most in need in Los Angeles. Because this food is too good to be wasted."

Ex-lover Freida Pinto’s sweet message for Dev Patel on Oscar nomination!

International star Dev Patel is flying high after he got nominated for the very prestigious Oscar Awards, for the movie Lion. Dev was nominated in the Best Supporting Actor category and the young actor is excited about it.

Dev released a statement telling, "Ok, so I just received a call to say that I've been nominated for an Academy Award. To be totally honest, the news hasn't made it's way into my brain yet, but I'm looking at these beautiful smiling faces around me... Faces of the ones I love. And I feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude. What makes this moment so much more poignant is that I've just wrapped shooting another film in India. This enthralling country holds such a deep place in my heart, and it is where Saroo's journey was born. This film would be nothing without Garth Davis. Without his love, commitment and vision this "Lion" wouldn't have been able to roar. To that extent I want to share this incredible feeling with Luke, Grieg, Jenny Kent, Iain, Angie, Emile, Sunny, Nicole, David, Rooney, Divian, Priyanka, the Brierley family as well as the Weinstein Co team. Lion reaffirms the message that love is not dictated by the color of your skin, not by race, gender, sexuality, social status, or origin. It is a message I am proud to be spreading during these uncertain times. This will forever be one of the most memorable experiences of my life."

Dev's ex-girlfriend Freida took to Instagram to wish Dev on this success. She shared, "So proud of you, Dev! A fine example of what hardwork, focus, humility and crazy amazing talent rewards one with .Long time coming, so well deserved! @lionmov @theacademy #Oscars2017 #OscarNominations2017 #bestactorinasupportingrole."

Freida Pinto has no problem to work in Hindi films!

Presently, US-based Indian actress Freida Pinto, who rose to fame with the Oscar-winning film "Slumdog Millionaire," tells she has no problem working in Hindi films.

"I have no problem working in Hindi language films. In fact, I worked in a half Marwari film 'Trishna' when I couldn't even speak the language. I had to learn it," she told.

"The thing is not that who is in the film. It's the story which is important for me," she further added.

Freida was lately speaking at an event where Google uncovered virtual exhibits "Women in India: Unheard stories".

About her forthcoming movie, the 32-year-old told, "I've a fantastic film coming out next year. It is directed by Tabrez Noorani, who is an Indian. He was one of the producers of 'Slumdog Millionaire'. He has done a fantastic film called 'Love Sonia'. It also has Anupam Kher and Adil Hussain. So, yes, I am doing Hindi language films. Also, I do speak in Hindi."

The movie tells the heartfelt and brave story of Sonia, a young Indian village girl whose life changes when she is entrapped into the global sex trade network.
