I've achieved significant milestones to demand a certain fee, reveals Kangana Ranaut!

Presently Kangana is promoting her soon-to-be-released movie, Simran. 

When Kangana was questioned about the difference in opinions regarding her statements, Kangana joked to a famous daily, "Why are we so wary of discussions and debate? I am told it's bad PR, but I don't quite understand that term."

Talking frankly about the huge pay gap between a male actor and a female actor in Bollywood, Kangana specified, "There are women in the industry who say that if actresses are unable to bring in crowds [in a theatre] that a male star can, how can they demand equal pay. If we, as actresses, keep instilling this inferiority complex in girls, there is no hope for better times."

She added, "Personally, my logic for remuneration has always been that I have 365 days to work, as much as any male star. An actor's pay must be determined by the amount of work s/he does. Your gender is no yardstick for it."

"The industry isn't just made up of four actors who have lasted through the decades. I might not have 30 years behind me. But in my 10 years, I've achieved significant milestones to demand a certain fee. Anybody's film can fail and this year has shown us enough proof of that. So, let's stop giving the opening [weekend] and closing logic," Kangana further said. She also disclosed that she knew actors can't work with her as she fights against the traditional and stereotypical norms of an actress.

On the film front, Kangana will next be seen in Simran which is helmed by Hansal Mehta and is slated to release on September 15, 2017. Kangana essays a Gujarati NRI who is a kleptomaniac.

Kangana discloses an awful incident which left her devastated during Simran's shoot!

Actress Kangana Ranaut starrer Simran's official trailer released recently and Kangana as Praful Patel is seen slaying it in every scene.

The actor will be seen essaying an NRI Gujarati in the movie. Kangana, who was present at the trailer launch, was questioned what her character is like in the movie. Responding to it, she told, "I had zero understanding of Gujarati culture and language. It's a story of life, magic and mistake for which I did preparations on many levels."

She also went on to disclose a shocking incident which took place during the shoot in America. "A funny thing happened while driving on a street in America, my driver passed out, he banged into the side walk and then we took him to the hospital. It took me a lot of time to recover from this trauma," Kangana told.

Kangana also opened up on the hullabaloo around the writing credentials of the movie and clarified that despite what people say there is no due pending. "I want to clarify that there is a lot of misconception about the entire writing credential thing. There are no dues pending, in fact, we have done exactly what he asked for. He was the one who suggested that I take the additional credits. Post that, he and I worked on schedule together. After many months, he decided to write this note when Rangoon flopped and people attacked me which I thought was in bad taste and planned and extremely deliberate. But if there is anything that we can do, we would do but there is nothing that has not been done. He has got the right due."

The film is due to release in September.

The promo of Simran is finally out and it starts with Kangana mouthing an influential dialogue and here's when you know that the movie will be a roller-coaster ride. Ranaut essays the character of a Gujarati NRI in Simran which is directed by Hansal Mehta and well, it's her simplicity that makes her character larger-than-life.

In the trailer, Simran is free-spirited and wants to explore the unexplored territories. She wants freedom from the shackles of stereotypes of what girls have to do in the society. Kangana will win you over when she will say, "Boyfriend hona koi character flaw thodi hai, Ladke patana toh talent hota ho."

You could even feel the vibe that her previously movie Queen had. In this around 3-minute video, you get to see different shades in her character. Kangana is seen smiling, shouting, flirting - in a way you would see all her moods being captured well.

At the promo launch recently, Kangana while talking about her character told, "I did many levels of preparation for the film as it was organic. Earlier Simran was a Punjabi girl. I had zero understanding of Gujarati culture and language. It's a story of life, magic and mistakes."

"I have a certain nostalgia with the name because my character name in Gangster was also Simran," further added Kangana.

Writer of the movie - Apurva - had shed some light on Kangana's role telling, "When I moved abroad at 21 to study, I dressed funny and spoke in an odd accent. I was a misfit but wanted to fit in. Praful (Kangana's character) comes from that space. She likes to gamble with life. That comes from my brother, Ricky, who assisted me on the script. He can play Poker for hours, clean the table with a straight face. Praful is a divorcee, yet doesn't let a patriarchal society hold her back. That comes from my sister Malvika. Then, there's graph Kangana has found to make Praful her own. She is a mix of so many interesting people from our worlds.”

Kangana escaped miraculously with a few minor scratches in US car accident!

Kangana Ranaut, who is presently in Atlanta to shoot for her forthcoming movie Simran, which is being directed by Hansal Mehta, met with a car accident when her driver blacked out after a coughing fit and the vehicle went out of control. But, luckily, Kangana escaped with a few minor scratches.

From what we have overheard, the incident took place when the group was returning from the shooting location, which was outside Georgia, to their hotel in Atlanta, the state's capital. A local driver was behind the wheel and while driving in the leftmost lane (meant for fast-moving traffic) on highway 381, he started coughing profusely and then blacked out while the car was still moving! When the driver blacked out, Kangana's local bodyguard, who was sitting next to the driver, tried to control the car's movement by maneuvering the steering wheel but couldn't control the vehicle, which swerved to the right and cut through three of the highway's lanes sharply, before banging into an iron fence. Kangana had a few minor scratches on her elbows and her forehead that bled a little, but was otherwise unhurt.

Actress Kangana Ranaut, who will soon team up with Hansal Mehta for the very first time for Simran, a movie about a female bank robber, has started preparation for her movie in Atlanta, USA.

Kangana's sister Rangoli took to her Twitter page to share some photos of the team and posted, ''Meet and greet!!! #soongoingonfloor #atlanta #Simran@mehtahansal!!!''

'Simran' is a movie about a Gujarati girl staying in the US, who takes to a life of crime and we have heard that the movie has been inspired by the life of Sandeep Kaur, who was also known as the 'Bombshell Bandit'. For those who do not know this, Sandeep Kaur, a registered nurse took to robbing banks to finance her gambling addiction and was convicted of robbing four banks in USA, following which, she was sentenced for 66 months in April 2015. Called the 'Bombshell Bandit' due to her glamorous disguises and bomb threats, Kaur, who had moved to California from Punjab to study and work as a registered nurse, captured the attention of many.

Kangana will also be next seen in Vishal Bhardwaj's Rangoon, which also stars Saif Ali Khanand Shahid Kapoor.

When filmmaker Hansal Mehta declared that his next movie starring Kangana Ranaut is titled Simran, everyone guessed that the actress will be playing the title role. The makers of the movie lately revealed the first look of the actress in the movie and revealed that actress's character is not called Simran.

Kangana plays Praful Patel in the movie, a housekeeper who gets addicted to the world of crime. In the first look, Kangana is seen in a no-make up look and is dressed in a housekeeper's dress.

The movie is seemingly inspired by the life of Sandeep Kaur, who was also known as the 'Bombshell Bandit'. Sandeep Kaur, a registered nurse took to robbing banks to finance her gambling addiction and was convicted of robbing four banks in USA, following which, she was sentenced for 66 months in April 2015.

The movie is scheduled to go on floors in August in the US and is jointly produced by Bhushan Kumar and Shailesh Singh.

Kangana and Rajkummar to team up for Hansal Mehta's Simran after Queen!

Filmmaker Hansal Mehta and actor Rajkummar Rao have joined hands in critically acclaimed movies like Shahid, Citylights and Aligarh, and now seemingly they are going to team up for Mehta's next, Simran.

The movie, which stars three-time National Award winning actress Kangana Ranaut, has a woman-oriented subject, and Rao, who has also won a National Award for his brilliant act in Shahid, will have an important role in the movie. Rajkummar and Kangana have previously worked together in Vikas Bahl's Queen.

Seemingly, Kangana will play the role of a Gujarati NRI in the movie, which is billed to be a light-hearted fun movie. The film will be shot across the US including Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Jose, San Francisco and Atlanta.

Hansal Mehta, who is presently basking in the success of Aligarh starring Manoj Bajpayee and Rajkummar Rao, will be working with Kangana Ranaut next in Simran and the filmmaker shared some details about the movie.

Speaking about the movie, which will go on floors once Kangana wraps up her shooting for Rangoon, Mehta told that the film is set in the United States and that Kangana will be seen playing a Gujarati girl in the movie. Unnecessary to say, this also means that Kangana might learn to speak in Gujarati for her role in the movie.

In Vishal Bhardwaj's Rangoon, which also stars Shahid Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan, Kangana will play an actress.
