Debutant Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter starrer Dhadak released Friday (July 20, 2018). Helmed by Shashank Khaitan, the movie has mostly received an encouraging response from the critics and the viewers. The movie made a collection of Rs 8.75 crore on its first day.

As per a report of a media agency, Janhvi spoke about the film's success. "I don’t think I am a star as of now, I am just trying to be an actor," revealed the debutant actress.

When the actor was questioned what was the best compliment she has received so far for her performance, she replied, "I got the best compliment from my director Shashank Khaitan when he told me that he is proud of me. But more than that, I feel the kind of overwhelming response that we are getting here is the biggest compliment for all of us."

The movie is a remake of Marathi hit movie Sairat which was directed by Nagraj Manjule.

During an event in Delhi, talking about her debut, Janhvi revealed, "Dhadak is the biggest blessing of my life. I am so fortunate to also have Shashank Khaitan as my first director, as he creates such great energy on the set. I had to train in Kathak for my role in the film. The thing that I like the most about Karan (Johar, producer) is that, there is a personal involvement and he makes me feel at home. I know that I can count on him and he has this wonderful ability to make you feel like you are the most important person in the world."

Newbie Ishaan Khatter is gearing up for his Bollywood debut film, Dhadak. Ishaan has found a great support system within his family, specifically from mother and actress Neelima Azim.

Speaking about how important his mother is to him, Ishaan revealed to a daily, "She is a symbol of strength in my life. She’s somebody from whom I’ve derived the meaning of strength and resilience, and she has also deeply embedded the value of women in my life. Women can be far stronger than men, and so I think she has been the most important person in my life. Also, we have a great time discussing films."

We were able to witness Ishaan's flawless dancing skills in the song of the summer, Zingaat from Dhadak, which is reminiscent of Ishaan's brother Shahid Kapoor, also known for his dance moves. Speaking about the same, Ishaan revealed, "I feel very fortunate. Our mother is the first dancer in the family and she’s a far superior dancer than either of us. We have inherited everything from her. I come from a family that loves its job and is very involved. I want to keep getting better, so that I can make them proud."

Bollywood’s newbie Ishaan Khatter debuted with Majid Majidi’s Beyond the Clouds.

 

Ishaan is presently promoting his next movie, Shashank Khaitan’s Dhadak with Janhvi Kapoor. The movie is scheduled to release on July 20, 2018. Janhvi and Ishaan have been promoting the film by visiting several cities and interacting with the viewers.

In a one-to-one with a tabloid, Ishaan disclosed how he landed Dhadak, he revealed, “My audition was my social media account, I think. Karan’s [Johar] team had seen some of my videos on Instagram—Dubsmashes and things—and then I had a series of meetings with him.”

Ishaan had disclosed at the trailer launch of the movie that Shashank Khaitan took him for the screening of Sairat and informed him on the way that he would like him to star in the remake being directed by him.

The most-awaited film Dhadak's trailer has launched in the presence of main star cast Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khattar. Dhadak is a remake of the super-hit Marathi movie Sairat.  It is the debut film of Janhvi Kapoor.

The trailer of Dhadak focuses on the young love story of Meet (Ishaan) and Parthavi (Janhvi). Both the actors look good together and complement each other quite well. We also get a new version of Zingaat with this film.

Lately, the producer of Dhadak, Karan Johar shared a new poster and pronounced that the trailer will be launched soon. In the new poster, Janhvi and Ishaan are seen smeared in colours making for a lovely onscreen duo.

Newbie Ishaan Khatter has already made a mark for himself in the industry. His debut movie Beyond The Clouds has fetched him critical acclaim and he was appreciated for his acting skills. Now, he is all set to attract his fans with his next movie, Dhadak that also stars Janhvi Kapoor.

In a media chat, Khatter told, "Dhadak is an adaptation, rather than a remake."

He went on to add that he's aware of the fact that adaptation haven't really worked at the box office in the present times. "But it depends on your intention behind directing a film. Director Shashank Khaitan understood that it’s such an important film for our country. Also, it is so easily adaptable into the different cultural milieu that it was important to make this film reach out to more audiences and he wanted to do it his way," revealed Ishaan.

Is Dhadak the title of Jhanvi-Ishaan's debut movie?

There is a lot of gossips around Sridevi and Boney Kapoor’s daughter Jhanvi Kapoor’s debut movie. She will be debuting with Shahid Kapoor’s half-brother Ishaan Khatter in the remake of Marathi super-hit movie, Sairat. Karan Johar will seemingly be producing the movie and as per latest reports the movie will be going on floors in the first week of December.

Jhanvi has been spotted with Ishaan at numerous occasions. She has also been training for the movie. Their debut movie will be directed by Shashank Khaitan and has seemingly been titled DHADAK.

The makers will be setting this movie against the backdrop of caste politics and honor killings in Haryana. The original movie was set in Maharastra and had won many awards. It is being stated that Sairat’s music directors Ajay-Atul have been roped in for the remake too.

About daughter Jhanvi’s debut film, Boney Kapoor had previously said to a tabloid, “Yes, Karan has been talking to us about a film for Jhanvi and we've given consent. But we don't know which project it would be. Since Karan has recently acquired the remake rights of Sairat it is being presumed that our daughter would be launched in this project.”
