The papers state that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie had an ‘informal arrangement’ but Brad Pitt has not been paying the amount and therefore she is seeking formal child support as well as retroactive pay. The ex-couple is keen to formally end their marriage, but are determined to win the custody battle, as per media reports. The source informed to a daily, “The filing today was only intended for the marriage to be dissolved, and before everything else can be dissolved, things have to be done by both parties, including financial disclosure and child support.”

The source further revealed, “The dissolution of the marriage will help everyone move forward and work together — as co-parents, something they’re committed to. It’s up to the court to come up with a solution good for the kids.”

The stars went inside the home of a friend for an emotional conversation.

"There were a lot of tears," Halperin told. 

"Nothing was left on the table. They had it out, right there and then in this very modest house. In that moment they decided to make a fresh start. It was a 'come to Jesus meeting' that marked the beginning of a new phase in their relationship," told the biographer.

When the pair split last September amid toxic allegations of drink, drugs and a mid-air altercation between Pitt and their teenage son Maddox which resulted in brief investigations by the FBI and social services the rift in their relationship seemed as final as it was sudden.

But the "tough love" meeting arranged by the couple's divorce negotiator gave them a chance to talk in the presence of a "referee" who helped them cut through the acrimony and recrimination.

Their conclusion was that they still loved each other and wanted to try again.

As per a portal, they are working to "consciously re-couple" and have undergone intensive rehab and spiritual counselling sessions in an effort to start anew.

A source disclosed to the magazine, "He’s been determined to apologize for everything he put her through, and that’s exactly what he did. It was the most intimate conversation Brad and Jen have ever had."

"He apologized to Jen for being an absentee husband, for being stoned and bored much of the time. He also made amends for leaving her for Angelina," the source further added

When Brad apologised, the source specified that "Jen was overcome with emotion. All the hurt feelings and resentment she’d suppressed for years came flooding to the surface, and she broke down in tears."

A friend of Jennifer's disclosed that the apology "opened the door to a whole new era of good feeling between exes," and added, "After Jen’s acceptance of Brad’s deeply moving apology, she and Brad have reached a level of closeness that they never thought possible."

Jennifer is happily wedded to Justin Theroux since 2015.
