Superstar Salman Khan who is
promoting Tubelight was lately caught under crossfire because of an
anti-war comment he made. He told, "People who order war should be asked
to go to war themselves. Take this gun and go to war. (They will realise it)
and it will get over in a day. They will tremble and shake and they will
eventually take the route of dialogues and discussions."
Director Kabir Khan has come in support of Salman and told
to a famous news agency, "I see no problem with the statement (of Salman).
He just said war is a waste of resources, human life and time for any country.
Nobody wants to go to war. What is wrong with that statement? Anybody who says
going to war is great, I think, is acting stupid."
"I think getting trolled for anything you say is
becoming a bit too much. You don't need to agree with everything that everybody
said but screaming, shouting and getting abusive is ridiculous. Try and
understand the point that is being made and in its context," Kabir said further.
Previously, Salman's brother Sohail Khan supported his
sibling and told a famous daily, "A lot of importance is given to actors'
comments on such issues. I am not sure if people from this industry have the
knowledge to talk about politics with such depth. What Salman Bhai - or any
actor for that matter - say, is his opinion as a common man, a mere
civilian."
"Ask people about the war, and anyone would say it's
bad. That's exactly what he said as well. War anywhere, in any part of the
world, be it Syria, India, Iraq, China, cannot be a good thing," Sohail
further added.
Tubelight is scheduled to release on June 23, 2017.
