International diva Priyanka Chopra is now a global star. But
she wants to spread the reach of regional cinema across
the nation. After producing a Bhojpuri movie Bam Bam Bol Raha
Hai Kashi and a Marathi movie Ventilator, Priyanka's third endeavor
is a Punjabi film titled Sarvann, which is set to release next
week and has a special shabad sung by her late
father, Dr. Ashok Chopra.
Now as per news in a tabloid, Priyanka is all set to roll
out her next endeavor. During her India visit last week, she shared with a daily, “I
will be announcing five, small-budget, content-driven, path-breaking movies in
other languages this year. I want to tell as many stories as possible using
local talent speaking in regional tongues."
Priyanka's latest regional venture is a Sikkimese-Nepalese movie
titled Paua which translates to Guest. Seemingly, the movie will
revolve around two young children who get separated from their parents at the
time of an unrest at the Indian border. Priyanka and her mother Madhu
Chopra are roping in local talent from Nepal and Sikkim.
Presently, Ms. Chopra is all set to attend the 74th Golden
Globe Awards on January 8 in Los Angeles. She is one of the presenters at the
show, together with Leonardo DiCaprio, Drew Barrymore, Matt Damon, Nicole
Kidman and Mandy Moore.
