Previously, Kangana Ranaut released a statement shunning
Indian awards ceremonies and now, Rishi Kapoor has also voiced his anguish
against the current state of movie awards. He also took potshots at Parineeti
Chopra, who lately got an award for losing weight at a popular awards function.
An annoyed Kapoor stated that he couldn't believe it when
Parineeti Chopra received an award for losing weight. He further added,
"Can someone please give me an award for gaining weight?"
He told that he never believed in popular awards but, they
have become worse now. Kapoor told that he uses trophies as doorstops as the organizers
just want to give awards to everybody to please them and have reduced them to
mere trivia.
He lamented that awards shows these days are merely for
television and TRPs. Rishi Kapoor, who has been honored with lifetime
achievement award several times, got one this year as well but, he doesn't take
them seriously and only focuses on his work.
