Aryan Khan: From Star Kid to Filmmaker, Entrepreneur, and Singer!

Aryan Khan: From Star Kid to Filmmaker, Entrepreneur, and Singer!

Aryan Khan, the eldest son of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and producer Gauri Khan, is carving his own path in the entertainment industry. For years, he was known primarily as a star kid, but now, he is making a name for himself as a director, screenwriter, and entrepreneur. With his much-anticipated directorial debut on the horizon, Aryan has recently surprised fans by also stepping into the world of music.

Biography: A Path to the Director's Chair

Born on November 12, 1997, Aryan Khan's upbringing was steeped in the world of filmmaking. He attended Sevenoaks School in Kent, England, and later graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in film and television production from the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts. This formal education provided him with a strong foundation in the craft of storytelling and production.

Beyond his career, Aryan has also faced intense public scrutiny. In 2021, he was arrested in a high-profile drug case, which he was later cleared of all charges from. This experience has been referenced in his recent work, showing a maturity and willingness to address his own life through his art.

Filmography: A New Kind of Debut

Unlike his father, who became a screen legend as an actor, Aryan has chosen to build his career behind the camera. His filmography includes:

  • As a Child Actor: A brief appearance in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001) as the younger version of his father's character.
  • Voice Artist: He has lent his voice to several animated characters, including Dash in the Hindi dub of The Incredibles (2004), and more recently, as Simba in the Hindi versions of The Lion King (2019) and Mufasa: The Lion King (2024).

His most significant project to date is his directorial debut, the Netflix series The Bads of Bollywood. The show, which he also wrote and served as the showrunner for, is a satirical take on the Hindi film industry. It has already generated massive buzz due to its star-studded cast, including Bobby Deol, and a list of A-list cameos from the likes of Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan, a cinematic coup that fans are calling "what Bollywood failed to achieve."

The Entrepreneur and Now a Singer

In 2022, Aryan co-founded the company Slab Ventures and launched D'yavol, a luxury brand that includes apparel and a line of premium liquor. He also directed the brand's advertisement, which featured his father, marking his first official directorial work. This business venture showcases his ambition beyond traditional filmmaking.

Adding a new feather to his cap, Aryan Khan recently made his singing debut. He collaborated with Diljit Dosanjh on the song "Tenu Ki Pata" for his show's soundtrack, a move that surprised and delighted his fans. The song, a high-energy track, features Aryan's voice and further establishes his versatile talent.

As The Bads of Bollywood is set to premiere on Netflix on September 18, 2025, the world will get to see Aryan Khan's artistic vision and hard work come to life. From being Shah Rukh Khan's son, he has successfully transitioned into a filmmaker, a businessman, and now a singer, charting a unique and compelling path of his own.

'The Bads of Bollywood': Bobby Deol Calls Aryan Khan a 'Tough Taskmaster'!

'The Bads of Bollywood': Bobby Deol Calls Aryan Khan a 'Tough Taskmaster'!

The highly anticipated directorial debut of Aryan Khan, "The Ba***ds of Bollywood," is creating a massive buzz, and leading the praise is none other than actor Bobby Deol. In a recent exclusive interview and at a preview event for the show, Bobby Deol not only lauded the young filmmaker's talent but also shared some hilarious and revealing behind-the-scenes stories about Aryan's work ethic and perfectionist approach.

A 'Tough Taskmaster' with an 'Amazing' Vision

Bobby Deol, who plays the role of an established star, Ajay Talwar, in the satirical series, was effusive in his praise for Aryan. "The way Aryan has done that is just amazing," he said. "From mature characters to younger characters, he's just brought out the best in everyone."

However, the actor also revealed that working with Aryan was an intense and demanding experience. With a laugh, he recalled how Aryan's passion led to a relentless pursuit of perfection. "Woh alag baat hai ki boht nichodha hamein (he overworked us a lot)," Bobby said. "He used to ask me, 'One more take?' and I used to say, 'Haan beta, ek aur take.' Initially, I thought he was going to go easy on us, but his one-more takes never ended."

The Late-Night Call to Shah Rukh Khan

Adding a humorous layer to the story, Shah Rukh Khan himself chimed in at the event, revealing that Bobby once called him in the middle of the night to "complain" about his son. "Ek baar isne raat ko call karke bola, ki tu aja bhai yeh boht kaam karwa raha hai, mujhe jaana hai ab (He called me one time during the night and told me, 'Please come to the set, he is making us work too much. I need to go now')," SRK shared, to the amusement of the audience. This lighthearted anecdote perfectly captured the respect and camaraderie on set, despite the hard work.

"He Has More Fire Than Shah Rukh"

In an even more startling revelation, Bobby Deol compared Aryan's passion to that of his superstar father. "The fire which he has is way beyond what Shah Rukh has," Bobby told a leading publication. "Shah Rukh is someone who's always out there, he never gives up. This child is way beyond that. And to have that quality so young, it must be the same as what Shah Rukh might have been at that age."

Bobby highlighted Aryan's focus, conviction, and passion, calling him a "perfectionist" who lives in the "real world." He confessed that he agreed to do the project without even reading the script, simply because he wanted to be a part of Aryan's debut.

The journey of "The Ba***ds of Bollywood," which satirizes the film industry and its tropes, is a testament to the hard work and clear vision of its young director. As Bobby Deol’s glowing praise confirms, Aryan Khan is not just a star kid but a serious filmmaker ready to make his mark.
