Kareena Kapoor Khan opens up on her ''coolest" father!

Kareena Kapoor Khan opens up on her ''coolest" father!

The Kapoor family, one of Bollywood's most illustrious families and usually referred to as the "first family of Hindi cinema," is the lineage of Kareena Kapoor Khan. This is true since Raj Kapoor, her grandfather, was a pioneer in Hindi cinema, and her great-grandfather, Prithviraj Kapoor, was one of the most well-known performers of his time. The Kapoor family, however, had an unspoken rule prohibiting women from working in the film industry. The truth is that none of her acting aunts, either those who were born into the Kapoor family or those who married into it, continued acting after they got married. Karisma, Kareena's older sister, was the first member of the family to choose acting as a career and to succeed as a star in her own right.

Kareena Kapoor Khan recently spoke with a daily and expressed admiration for her father Randhir Kapoor. She revealed, "I think my father has been one of the coolest fathers ever." Raj Kapoor was her father; he is the actor Babita Kapoor's spouse. Even Randhir's debut feature film, Kal Aaj Aur Kal, which also starred Raj Kapoor and Prithviraj Kapoor, was a result of their cooperation. She said that he supported her job choices at all times, even when she decided to pursue an acting career—unusual for a Kapoor woman.

Bebo also talked about the reasons why there aren't any films starring Kapoor women. "Times were different" back then, she remarked. "Back in the 1970s and stuff, it was different because times were different. That when they got married they never really worked, but I’m glad that my father moved with the times because that’s what it is about. You have to keep changing yourself for your children. That’s also important, and not live in archaic times," the Jab We Met actress revealed.

Kareena recalled her father's support for Karisma and added that although it was challenging for Karisma to be one of the first Kapoor women to pursue an acting career, her father was always encouraging. Kareena added that her father has always been a terrific friend and mentor to her and that he is a very cosmopolitan and open-minded individual.

I just hope he never gets affected by this media craze around him, says Randhir Kapoor on Taimur!

On December 20, 2016, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan welcomed a baby boy Taimur Ali Khan and since then, the little kid has managed to win over millions of hearts.

Today marks Taimur's first birthday and the whole Khan and Kapoor Khandaan are at Pataudi Palace where the private family celebrations will take place.

In a talk with a tabloid, Taimur's grandfather Randhir Kapoor got candid about the time before his grandson was born. "I remember the sentiments we had a year ago at this time. We were waiting to know with bated breath who we’re welcoming home. And see, Taimur is already a year old! He’s handsome and has all my blessings and good wishes."

When questioned about Taimur's social media popularity, Kapoor specified, "I just hope he never gets affected by this media craze around him. We want Taimur to be as low on all these things as possible. We want him to have a normal upbringing and lead a regular life. We don’t know what will happen when he grows up. But for as long as he’s a child, we want him to have his years of innocence and grow up like any other normal kid. The rest is his destiny."

Babita continues to be my wife and I continue to be her incorrigible, horrible husband, says Randhir Kapoor!

Veteran actor Randhir Kapoor began his acting career in 1971 with Kal, Aaj Aur Kal. He wedded Babita the same year but separated in 1998. But, in 2007, the couple got back together. Blessed with two daughters, both Karisma and Kareena are megastars in their own right.
Randhir, who will be ringing in his 70th birthday in a fortnight's time, got up, close and personal with a leading daily, where he spoke honestly about his wife, daughters and his life's plans ahead.

"People want to know whether I'm throwing a party to trumpet my old age. Well, the answer is, yes, but rather than a big bash it'll be an intimate gathering of family and a few close friends. Babita, who is still my wife, and my daughters, Karisma and Kareena, will look after my guests. They are still my family. I have three lovely grandchildren too. Taimur (Kareena's son Taimur Ali Khan) will barely be two months old then but I'm hoping the other two, Samaira and Kiaan (Karisma's children), can come to my party for a little while. But it's a school day, so they may not be able to attend," told RK, on his birthday plans this year.

Explaining frankly about his relationship with wife Babita and daughters Lolo-Bebo, Randhir shared, "Well, I still have just one wife (Babita) and two daughters (Karisma and Kareena). Nothing around me has changed in all these years. The only thing that has is that I don't live with them anymore. The girls are married and have their own homes. And Babita is in a happy space by herself. She's not got married again and nor does she intend to, neither do I. She continues to be my wife and I continue to be her incorrigible, horrible husband. So be it!"

He further added, "I'm content being semi-retired. My children are settled. In fact, both my daughters are wealthier than I am and I keep asking them to adopt me as their father, so that I can also be rich. I still meet Babita for dinner sometimes, we eat and laugh. That is the way we are."

Randhir's brother Rishi Kapoor lately compared Aamir Khan to his father post-Dangal. On this, Randhir quoted, "I think Chintu is right. Aamir is a complete filmmaker like our father. He does not need Deepika Padukone and Kareena Kapoor to enhance Dangal, he can pull off a movie with rank newcomers!"
