Fans, prepare for the biggest chapter yet! The much-anticipated feature film adaptation, Mirzapur: The Movie, has reached a major production milestone. The main cast, led by Pankaj Tripathi (Kaleen Bhaiya), Ali Fazal (Guddu Pandit), and Shweta Tripathi Sharma (Golu Gupta), has successfully concluded the grueling Banaras (Varanasi) schedule.

The team will now celebrate Diwali before relocating the entire production to Mumbai to kick off the next crucial phase of filming in early November.

Banaras, with its ancient ghats and undeniable raw energy, has always been integral to the Mirzapur narrative. The two-week-long shoot in the city was reportedly intense, capturing key sequences that will bridge the world of the hit OTT series to the new cinematic scale.

The actors shared emotional goodbyes to the location, acknowledging its significance to their characters:

• Pankaj Tripathi spoke of his character's birthplace: "Every time I come to Banaras, I feel a deep sense of belonging. This city is spiritual, raw, and alive. Shooting Mirzapur: The Movie here reminded me why Kaleen Bhaiya's world feels so real."

• Ali Fazal highlighted the local support: "This leg was charged with energy, emotion, and a lot of love from fans who showed up at every corner to watch us film."

• Shweta Tripathi Sharma noted the poetic connection: "Banaras has given me so much as an actor... Golu's journey is about transformation and inner strength, and shooting in Banaras makes that emotion feel real."

Why the Shift to Mumbai Matters for the Plot

The move to Mumbai is strategic, signaling an escalation in the power dynamics of the Mirzapur universe. While the Purvanchal region of Uttar Pradesh (UP) forms the heart of the gang war, the Mumbai schedule is expected to film sequences involving powerful, high-stakes political or criminal connections—the kind of players necessary for the Tripathis and Pandits to fight for absolute control.

The film, produced by Excel Entertainment and directed by Gurmmeet Singh, is set to be a spectacle. It brings back popular characters and introduces new faces, including Sonal Chauhan, with reports suggesting appearances by Jitendra Kumar and Ravi Kishan in pivotal roles.

With the Banaras chapter wrapped, the focus now shifts entirely to the Mumbai sets, bringing the highly anticipated 2026 release closer to reality for millions of fans. The battle for supremacy in the world of Kaleen Bhaiya and Guddu Pandit has officially left the heartland.

Sanjana Sanghi and Pankaj Tripathi to come together for a film!

Recently, actress Sanjana Sanghi was seen in an action movie titled Rashtra Kavach Om along with Aditya Roy Kapur. Though the movie didn't perform well at the box office, but her act was loved by the audience. Sanjana began her filmy career as a child artist in Imtiaz Ali's Rockstar co-starring Ranbir Kapoor and Nargis Fakhri. Now, she is all set to unite with Pankaj Tripathi. As per media reports, she will be playing lead in Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury's forthcoming movie.

Well-known director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, who has received a National Film Award for his movie Pink starring Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu, will be directing the movie. The yet-to-be-titled movie will rotate around a father-daughter relationship. A source revealed to a media source, "With the combined writing pedigree of Andhadhun’s Pooja Surthi and Kahaani’s Ritesh Shah, Sanjana Sanghi is all set to headline National award-winning director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury's upcoming currently untitled father-daughter drama alongside Pankaj Tripathi, who essays the role of her father in the film.”

On the film front, Sanjana is currently busy shooting for Dhak Dhak. It is being produced under Taapsee Pannu's production. The movie also stars Dia Mirza, Ratna Pathak Shah and Fatima Sana Shaikh.

Pankaj Tripathi’s Prime Minister role for former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s biopic!

Recently, the much-hyped movie based on former Prime Minister (PM), Atal Bihari Vajpayee was announced. The makers pronounced the movie titled Main Rahoon Ya Na Rahoon, Yeh Desh Rehna Chahiye – Atal. It is an adaptation of Ullekh NP’s book The Untold Vajpayee: Politician and Paradox. The makers were scouting for an actor to depict the role of Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Main Rahoon Ya Na Rahoon, Yeh Desh Rehna Chahiye – Atal.

Now, as per media source close to the makers of the movie claims, "It is Pankaj Tripathi, who is all set to play the former Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee's role on the silver screen. The film on Atal Bihari Vajpayee will be produced by Vinod Bhanushali, Sandeep Singh, Sam Khan, Kamlesh Bhanushali and Vishal Gurnani. It is scheduled to hit screens in 2023. The biopic will be released on Christmas 2023, which marks the 99th birth anniversary of the late PM.”

Pankaj Tripathi reveals about saturation point in his career!

Well-known actor Pankaj Tripathi is one of the versatile actors in Bollywood. He has essayed versatile roles in movies like Stree, Gurgaon, Ludo, Luka Chupi and web series Mirzapur. Now, Tripathi is gearing up for his forthcoming movie Sherdil: The Pilibhit Story which is all set to hit theatres on June 24. The movie presents an insightful story about the adverse effects of urbanisation, man-animal conflicts and poverty leading to a bizarre practice in a village that resides on the edge of a forest.

Recently, in a media chat, the actor talked about Sherdil, his two-decade long journey in Bollywood and how he has reached the saturation point. The actor revealed, “It has been quite an interesting journey. I remember clearly how I did a few roles initially where I was the face but the voice was not mine, my part was edited out, and then I was a small part of large films. My journey is proof that if you work hard and consistently keep working on your craft, your journey will bear fruits. Sherdil is that fruit for me. It tells an important story about man and his relationship with nature, and the best part of it all is that it is a satirical film.”

Speaking about the saturation point in his career after back-to-back movies and shows, the actor revealed, “I know that I am almost at the saturation point. I plan to work a little less in the coming days. I am getting a feeling that I should do less work. I will try that for a year or so. If it doesn’t work, then I’ll be back to doing what I do now.”

Tripathi also told that going forward, he wants to be a part of projects that give him satisfaction as an actor.

As we all know that R Madhavan is an avid social media user and likes to interact with his admirers regularly. It is during such an AMA session on his Twitter handle two days back that Madhavan got rid of a rumour related to him that was doing rounds everywhere for the past few weeks.

When a admirer questioned him if he is supposed to play the lead role in the biopic based on Ratan Tata, Madhavan’s response was a straight no. Responding to the same, he posted, “Hey unfortunately it’s not true. It was just a wish at some fans will made the poster. No such project is even on the pipeline or being discussed.”

On the work front, R Madhavan’s last release was Nishabdham that also featured Anushka Shetty as the female lead.

Pankaj Tripathi in awe of talented Janhvi Kapoor!

Bollywood’s newbie Janhvi Kapoor's second movie is a biopic based on IAF officer Gunjan Saxena. This is her second movie after Dhadak in which she shares screen space along with Pankaj Tripathi. The actor essays Janhvi's father in the film. They lately wrapped the Lucknow schedule of the movie.

The movie is presently titled as Kargil Girl. When questioned about working with Janhvi Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi revealed to a media source that he enjoyed working with her. Tripathi revealed, "Janhvi is an absolute treasure of talent and very promising, she is hardworking and respects everyone on the set a lot. She is full of energy and keeps herself occupied gaining knowledge about the craft from everyone around while on sets."

About his experience of shooting with her for the movie, he further revealed, "I have loved my time with her on sets and enjoyed sharing screen space with her.  I am playing father to her in the film and on sets, she gives me that kind of respect which is admirable."

Pankaj Tripathi reveals plot of Sacred Games Season 2!

Sacred Games is an original Indian web series. The show received enormous praise and popularity globally, but also received criticism from a few sections of the society.

The first season of the series concluded with a mind-numbing suspense, and admirers of the show are already demanding a second season. While the makers have verified that the series will be spread across four seasons, there has been no official pronouncement as to when will the second season air.

Actor Pankaj Tripathi, who had made a brief appearance in the first season as the 'Guruji', has dropped some key hints about the forthcoming storyline.

Nawaz essays the character of Ganesh Gaitonde, a gangster, and had referred to Guruji as his 'teesra baap' (third father) in the series. While talking to a daily, Pankaj Tripathi revealed that his character Guruji will become the mastermind behind the chain of events in the second part.

He disclosed, "Guruji is a larger-than-life part and will become the most sought-after character in the series. My character becomes as big as Gaitonde." In one of the episodes in season 1, the character Gaitonde had said that Guruji taught him the tricks of the trade, but he had also cheated Gaitonde.
