Sudhir Mishra’s desire to work with Nawazuddin Siddiqui!

As per media reports, Sudhir Mishra is going to collaborate with Nawazuddin Siddiqui for a film based on Manu Joseph's 'Serious Men'.

On their association, Sudhir Mishra revealed, "What can I say about Nawaz that has already not been said? He is a wonderful actor and I always wanted to work with him. But I had to offer him something interesting because good actors are always attracted to a good script. In Manu Joseph's 'Serious Men', I found one part for him."

"Serious Men" released in 2010. It is a story of class and gender conflict.

Speaking more about it, Mishra revealed, "It is a great story that revolves around the relationship of a father and son from the Dalit community. Though there is a lot of angst in him and most of his decisions are driven by anger... he is a father after all."

"So his character is not dark, rather grey. I try to show that softer side also. An angry man's life is not black and white. It is grey," further added the filmmaker.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui opens up about his affairs through a biography An Ordinary Life!

In his tell-all biography An Ordinary Life, actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui has disclosed a lot about his love life, one-night stands, affairs and the number of women in his life. Nawazuddin even disclosed about his long affair with his Miss Lovely co-star Niharika Singh.

Nawazuddin told that before his relationship with Niharika, he met a Jewish girl Suzanne from New York City. The book stated, "We met there and hit it off. She came to Mumbai and began to live with me... Every few months, she kept extending her visa... The shooting of Miss Lovely commenced. Suzanne used to accompany me there. Then came the day when her visa expired and she needed to return to New York to sort it out. She was gone for many months."

He then disclosed how things went weird all of a sudden between Niharika and him and how it eventually led to their affair.

Nawaz disclosed, "One day, while we were shooting a dance scene, something happened to my co-star Niharika Singh... She was suddenly cold, went out of her way to maintain a distance from me and began to keep mum. I was puzzled... She used to be friendly, social and talk quite a bit. I thought it was best to ask her what had happened and so I did, not once, not twice, but several times, for several days... I invited her over for a home-cooked meal, a mutton dish which was my speciality. She politely agreed and came over... Not only did she eat everything that was on her plate, but she praised it as well.

He further stated that he was invited by Singh to have mutton at her place. When he visited her house, he was astonished to see how she has decorated her house.

Nawazuddin mentioned, "I was speechless with amazement. A hundred, or so it seemed, little candles flickered beautifully. She wore soft faux fur, looking devastatingly gorgeous, her beauty illuminated even more in the candlelight. And I, being the lusty village bumpkin that I am, scooped her up in my arms and headed straight for the bedroom. We made passionate love. And just like that, out of the blue, I began a relationship with Niharika Singh, a relationship which I did not know then would last for almost one and a half years..."

During this period, he was getting emails from Suzzane as Nawaz was not answering to her. He further added, "I did not respond... I trusted my silence would convey what needed to be conveyed. When I was checking my inbox one day, Niharika happened to see one of her emails. 'Who is this?' she inquired. 'You know very well who it is,' I said. 'It's Suzanne.' 'Wo-ow! It's still going on between you two! Amazing!' Niharika thundered in anger. 'It is wrong. I hope you know that...'".

But, Niharika started responding to Suzzane. About the same, he mentioned, "From that day, Niharika began to send emails to Suzanne from my email address. She would type, 'I cannot continue with you ...' and sign off as me. Imagine the shock for Suzanne. She would send heartbreaking replies... After a few of these email exchanges, Suzanne figured that this was not my voice at all. 'Who is this writing, Nawaz? I know this is not you... Who is she? Who is this b***h?' 'B***h!' That word infuriated Niharika so much that she made me end all correspondence with Suzanne forever... I was very sad. Then I thought, so be it, it's all right, I am with Niharika. My melancholy evaporated quickly."

Nawazuddin also disclosed how he was called a r*scal and how cared only for himself. He called himself a selfish b*****d. The actor further added, "Niharika was an intelligent girl. Being an actor herself meant that she knew and understood my struggle for work... She would call me in frequent spurts throughout the day demanding to know of my whereabouts... [Then] The regularity of the questions felt like being nagged non-stop... There was another piece to this puzzle. Like all girls, Niharika obviously expected some of the sweet conversations that lovers have, to take place between us. But I was quite a selfish b*****d. I had a plain aim: go to her house, make out and leave. I could not talk lovey-dovey too much. It finally struck her that I was a rascal who cared only for himself. (Actually, all the girls I have ever been with have had this same complaint about me. I would only come to them for my own needs. Otherwise, I might not even take their calls.)".

Nawaz also disclosed in the book that when he met Niharika again, she was wearing a silk robe, and he tried to run his hands over her but she pushed him away. "'No, Nawaz!' she said. 'I won't meet you again. This is enough.' I pleaded I cried, I apologized. But she remained adamant. She had had enough. So that was that we broke up cutting off all contact. Two months later, another girl came into my life in a most mysterious way. I did not know then that years later, I would marry her", the actor has mentioned in the book.

If someone calls me hot, it is because of my work, admits Nawazuddin Siddiqui!

Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui has worked with most of the megastars in Bollywood. Though he was in a supporting or negative role, his character left a lasting impact at times more than the lead actor.

Now, he is gearing up for the release of his forthcoming movie Munna Michael, where he is starring along with Tiger Shroff. When a famous tabloid questioned him the difference in superstars and star kids approach towards their work, Nawaz specified, "Not just star kids, even our superstars have changed a lot. Earlier, superstars would take stardom very seriously, but today's stars are humble. The star kids are also approachable and they understand cinema well. They are more realistic both in terms of their personality and approach."

Many of the movies by leading superstars have failed to influence at the box-office. It is also said that the viewers has started looking at the story rather than the stars unlike before. Agreeing to it, Nawazuddin told, "Yes, the audience can't be fooled anymore. However, I believe that superstars are necessary. Their massive fan-following helps movies run and it's with that money that we manage to make more films. Hollywood has taken over Europe because there are no superstars left there. So, until the time there are stars and superstars, our cinema will flourish. The day they are extinct, Hollywood films will grab our market."

Nawaz has a huge fan following around the nation and people do find him hot. Speaking about it, Nawazuddin told, "What can I say about that? I am happy but also shocked. There was a time when people told me, 'Bhai kyu jaa raha hai filmomein? Shakal surat toh dekh le apni.' And then, my mother would say, 'Mard kikhoobsurti uske kaam se hoti hai.' Today, if someone calls me hot, I know that it is because of my work and I take it seriously."

Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s intense desire for grey roles!

Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui is all set to feature in MOM and Munna Michael. Those who have seen Nawaz acting, you might have observed that he has a different take on his roles and his style of acting. From Raees to Manjhi, Nawaz has delivered some intense performances showcasing his mastery over his art - acting. But, what he doesn't like is that people categorizing or stereotyping the actors.

In an interview with a famous agency, Nawaz told, "If one has to, at all, one should put the roles played by our heroes in boxes. Because, sadly, it is the hero who has been typecast... He keeps doing the same character again and again. Actors, like us, cannot be put in boxes."

Speaking of his roles, Siddiqui told, "I like doing grey roles more... They have more depth, more complexity. I can't do these larger-than-life heroes or villain-like characters because they don't interest me. I hate these two extremes in this world, as they don't have any shades in them."

"Because I observe characters from real life, I know people have both good and bad characteristics in them. When you put both of them together, what you get is a complete human being," further added Nawaz.

In his forthcoming movie MOM, Nawaz is going to play the role of Dayashankar Kapoor. Explaining about the role, "I have done over 2,000 characters in theatre in seven years. I have a lot of 'masala' to show. I have this confidence, which allows me to try different roles in every film I do next."

Adding more to the type of roles he has been doing, the actor told, "The ones who get scared are those who feel they have nothing else left to show. I have a lot of characters stored in my bank."

"If you go out and see, there are thousands of characters with their own story, uniqueness and behaviour. If you observe someone closely, you will get a lot of material from there. If you have shut yourself behind glass doors, then it will be a problem," Nawaz told.

I'd rather do Rs 50-lakh film than a Rs 50-cr project, tells Nawazuddin!

Whether it's bringing alive well-known writer Saadat Hasan Manto onscreen in "Manto" or playing a rustic sharpshooter in his most "besharam" movie "Babumoshai Bandookbaaz", actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui's new projects are about exploring the unexplored.

At a time when a mega-budget entertainer like "Baahubali" has set new examples for the Indian film industry, the resourceful actor tells a film's budget or the stars and directors associated with it don't motivate him to decide on a project.

"However big a scale of a film, or however famous a director is, or a star, I don't do a film till I don't understand it."

"If someone says it's a Rs 50-crore or Rs 70-crore film, I leave that and do a Rs 50-lakh film, because satisfaction is very important for me. Maybe the Rs 50-crore film doesn't allow me to tap a new side of my potential that a smaller budget film lets me discover," Nawazuddin told.

"If nothing happens to me from within after listening to a film's story, then I don't do it budget irrespective," added the actor, who for the past three to four years, has come into his own.

In "Manto", meanwhile, the actor will be seen bringing forth the simplicity of the writer, who was a strong advocate of free speech.

"'Manto' has been a great experience... People know a lot about his work and he continues to be known for his daring and boldness," Nawazuddin told, drawing a deep breath of satisfaction understandably of getting his due in the industry.

"I am doing the kind of roles that I really want to do... The industry is giving them to me. I never wanted to do black and white kind of roles. Our (Indian film) hero has no drawback at all... So I am not interested in those roles," Nawazuddin told.

"And there's one villain who has all the evil. I am not interested in that role as well. I am drawn to close-to-real-life roles where the character is a mix of black and white... I prefer grey.", concluded Nawazuddin.
