Recently, Deepika Padukone’s first look as Romi Dev in Kapil Dev’s biopic, ‘83 is finally out and we can really say it was worth the wait. Nailing Romi Dev’s look to the ‘T’, Deepika becomes the former Indian team captain’s wife and the similarity is uncanny. Standing along with Ranveer Singh aka Kapil Dev in the photograph, Deepika as Romi is all set to turn the supportive wife of the 1983 world cup winning team’s captain.

Sharing the first look from film ‘83 on social media, Deepika stated that she is delighted to play a small but very significant part in a story that is registered in the sport's history. Deepika wrote, “To be able to play a small, but significant part in a film that captures one of the most iconic moments in sporting history has been an absolute honour.”

Ranveer Singh aces Kapil Dev’s ‘Natraj shot’ for ’83!

Now, the film ’83 has wrapped up and recently, Ranveer Singh brightened up the day as he shared a photograph from the movie in which he is seen nailing Kapil Dev’s well-known ‘Natraj Shot’.

In the photograph, Ranveer Singh is seen playing the shot while on the field and along with the photograph, Ranveer posted, “NATRAJ SHOT #RanveerAsKapil  @therealkapildev @kabirkhankk.” 

After seeing this photo, fans took to social media to shower praises on the actor and hailed him for looking like the spitting image of the legendary cricketer.

Ranveer Singh’s happiness due to happy ending with wife Deepika in ’83!

Deepika Padukone joined the cast of Kapil Dev’s biopic, ‘83. Deepika and Ranveer will be seen as husband and wife on screen in Kabir’s movie which is based on Kapil Dev and the 1983 World Cup. Deepika and Ranveer have done three movies together in the past which were all helmed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

One more common this in all the three movies was the fact that one of them died in the end and there was no happy ending. But, lastly in ‘83, Deepika and Ranveer will be getting a happy ending and this is one fact that is not just making fans happy, but also Ranveer Singh. As Deepika pronounced her association with Kabir Khan’s ‘83, she shared a photograph with Ranveer on Instagram.

Deepika captioned the photo as, “& on to the next...Thank You @kabirkhankk for this incredible honour...! #RomiDev #Day1 @83thefilm @ranveersingh.” Hubby Ranveer could not resist and commented, “ and this time, we don’t die in the end! Yayy!!”

Meanwhile, Deepika and Ranveer will be shooting for ‘83 in England and Scotland. In the movie, Deepika will be seen stepping into the shoes of Romi Dev, Kapil Dev’s wife.

The team of '83 in Dharamshala for the arduous training session!

Dynamic actor Ranveer Singh starrer '83 is in buzz. The Kabir Khan directorial will have Ranveer Singh step into the shoes of the former Indian Cricket team captain Kapil Dev who headed Indian Cricket team at the 1983 World Cup. Also, numerous gifted actors from the industry have been added to the star cast. The movie depicts the historic win of the Indian Cricket team at the 1983 World Cup where in the final match, they defeated the West Indies Cricket team. Recently, the whole cast is headed off to Dharamshala for a rigorous training session.

As per a media source, "The 1983 cricket team was a family that fought for each other, beside each other and that’s why they lifted the World Cup and brought glory to India. Kapil led from the front and it was truly a team that dared to dream under Kapil. Kabir was sure that he would want the entire team to train and live with each other before he shot the film. The 1983 team was nicknamed Kapil’s Devils and this team can be called Ranveer’s Devils! They are all headed to Dharamshala for intense training for 15 days. They will stay together, each together, do readings together and also bond with each other. Kabir wants these brilliant actors to truly become a team".

The movie also stars Tahir Raj Bhasin, Saqib Saleem, Pankaj Tripathi, Harrdy Sandhu and Jatin Sarna in pivotal roles. The movie will be releasing on April 10 next year.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui is a talented Bollywood actor. He is presently playing a negative character in the web series titled Sacred Games.

Recently, Nawazuddin has bagged yet another role in the forthcoming movie titled '83. The movie is based on India's Cricket World Cup victory of 1983 and is helmed by Kabir Khan. The flick stars Ranveer Singh in the lead role. Singh will essay the legendary Kapil Dev in the film.

As per a daily, Nawazuddin Siddiqui has been approached for the part of the winning team's coach. The actor has been in discussions with the film's makers for a while now and is expected to be on board soon.

Director Kabir Khan revealed to a daily, "It’s too early to comment so I won’t confirm or deny anything."

Will try giving good stories to Kabir Khan, reveals Kapil Dev!

Kabir Khan's most aspiring movie “83” is based on the Indian cricket team's World Cup victory in 1983. Kapil Dev, who had led the team back then, says he will try to give the filmmaker good stories and information for the movie.

Actor Ranveer Singh will essay Kapil Dev on the big screen.

The former star cricketer was here to attend Magic Bus project's new initiative along with actress Sonam Kapoor.

On the movie, Kapil Dev told, "It's up to the director and producers how they make the film. We will try to give them good stories and give all possible information about that phase."

Questioned who among the present crop of actors from Bollywood fit the casting for the movie, he told, "Actors of the Hindi film industry are really good and I feel they shouldn't be compared with anyone. If you see, in the last 20 to 25 years, we have seen amazing talent in the industry."

At the event here on Monday, Kapil Dev and Sonam Kapoor interacted with children at an activity-based session at the District Sports Complex Dharavi. 

Kapil Dev to become Ranveer Singh’s mentor for Kabir Khan's ‘83!

The former Indian cricketer Kapil Dev helped India clinch its first World Cup in 1983 and Kabir Khan is all set to make a biopic on the same starring Ranveer Singh.

As part of trainings, Kapil Dev and members of the same team will be training Ranveer for the movie. As per a tabloid, the entire team will undergo some preparations for the same and a boot camp will be there.

Kabir Khan previously said that he has always appreciated Ranveer as an actor.

When Ranveer was questioned about his reaction on being offered the role of Kapil Dev, he specified, "I was born at the time when cricket was big time. When Kabir Sahab had come to me and said that there will be a film on 83, I was like finally. And when he was narrating it to me, I was like woooh. It is not a story just about cricket but a human story."

He told to Kapil, "How am I going to do this? I am honoured that I will be a part of the biggest story." And added, "Goosebumps and goosebumps in the second part of the film, right Kabir sir?"

Only Ranveer has been finalised for the role and Dev told that it will not be an easy task to make the 1983 squad. He told, "1983 ki team handle karna wasn't easy, koshish karlo mushkil se milenge aise characters poori India mein."
