Kapil Dev opens up about how he proposed wife Romi Dev!

Well-known cricketer Kapil Dev is an inspiration for several young cricketers in India as well as abroad. The legenedary cricketer is the one who was the captain of the Indian Cricket team who went on to win the World Cup in 1983.

Lately, the renowned cricketer opened up about his love life and eventual marriage with Romi Dev during his tête-à-tête in #NoFilterNeha Season 5. Kapil opened up on his infamous proposal that is sure to crack us up. It so happened that the cricketer and Romi were inside a car when they came across a hoarding bearing an ad that featured him. It showed two of his teeth coming out with some butter. He is said to have asked her to click a photo of the same.

When Romi asked him the reason behind it, Kapil told her that they will show it to their children. The cricketer then discloses how she asked him if he is proposing to her. Well, he replied in the affirmative and we know the rest! Kapil Dev also revealed how he convinced Romi’s family for marriage. According to him, her father was okay with it but it was her 90-year old grandfather who asked repeated questions upon knowing that he plays cricket. The former cricketer then compares it to the present context and says that if someone plays IPL in current times that means his life is sorted.

Recently, India took on New Zealand at the semi-finals match of the World Cup 2019 on 9^th July 2019. The match took place at the Old Trafford in Manchester, UK and numerous of the Bollywood celebs were present to cheer team India.

Recently, Veteran stars Anil Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor were also at the stadium to witness the epic clash between the two teams. While watching the match, Anil and Sanjay posted a couple of photographs on their Instagram story to treat their fans with some visuals of the match.

As per reports, Anil and Sanjay also got a chance to meet the well-known cricketer Kapil Dev. Sanjay Kapoor took to Instagram to share the photograph with the 1983 World Cup winning captain.

Sanjay captioned the photograph as, “With the legend Kapil Dev, I can’t stop grinning #1983worldcup #captain #greatestallrounder #fanmoment.” While the actors continued to enjoy the match from that point on, the game came to a halt post showers.

Bollywood’s lively actor Ranveer Singh has signed Kapil Dev’s biopic, Kabir Khan’s next directorial endeavor titled '83. He has lately wrapped Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati has started preparation for his next, Gully Boy.

The actor who has an interesting line up of movies spoke to a tabloid about his role in 83 and told, “I remember when Kabir came to me with the movie, I was like, ‘chalo, it’s great that finally, someone wants – and is planning to – make a mainstream Hindi film on the 1983 World Cup victory. I think since I was born in 1985, I always thought that someone must tell the story of our [world cup] winning story in a sports film.”

“Yes, it is one of the greatest sports stories ever about how a bunch of underdogs – who nobody thought anything of – were banded together, got galvanised by their leader and they went on to win the world cup. It infused the nation with a lot of pride and was clearly a turning point in our sports history. I wasn’t aware that 1983 victory turned the tide because I thought, ‘cricket has always been a huge sport in our country,” Ranveer further added.

About transforming himself into Kapil Dev, he revealed, “Bas woh bowling action aa jaaye (I wish I get his bowling action correct). I hope Kapil sir himself gives me some training and tips. It will be absolutely fantastic. It goes without saying that the physical transformation is going to be an important part.”

Will try giving good stories to Kabir Khan, reveals Kapil Dev!

Kabir Khan's most aspiring movie “83” is based on the Indian cricket team's World Cup victory in 1983. Kapil Dev, who had led the team back then, says he will try to give the filmmaker good stories and information for the movie.

Actor Ranveer Singh will essay Kapil Dev on the big screen.

The former star cricketer was here to attend Magic Bus project's new initiative along with actress Sonam Kapoor.

On the movie, Kapil Dev told, "It's up to the director and producers how they make the film. We will try to give them good stories and give all possible information about that phase."

Questioned who among the present crop of actors from Bollywood fit the casting for the movie, he told, "Actors of the Hindi film industry are really good and I feel they shouldn't be compared with anyone. If you see, in the last 20 to 25 years, we have seen amazing talent in the industry."

At the event here on Monday, Kapil Dev and Sonam Kapoor interacted with children at an activity-based session at the District Sports Complex Dharavi. 

Kapil Dev to become Ranveer Singh’s mentor for Kabir Khan's ‘83!

The former Indian cricketer Kapil Dev helped India clinch its first World Cup in 1983 and Kabir Khan is all set to make a biopic on the same starring Ranveer Singh.

As part of trainings, Kapil Dev and members of the same team will be training Ranveer for the movie. As per a tabloid, the entire team will undergo some preparations for the same and a boot camp will be there.

Kabir Khan previously said that he has always appreciated Ranveer as an actor.

When Ranveer was questioned about his reaction on being offered the role of Kapil Dev, he specified, "I was born at the time when cricket was big time. When Kabir Sahab had come to me and said that there will be a film on 83, I was like finally. And when he was narrating it to me, I was like woooh. It is not a story just about cricket but a human story."

He told to Kapil, "How am I going to do this? I am honoured that I will be a part of the biggest story." And added, "Goosebumps and goosebumps in the second part of the film, right Kabir sir?"

Only Ranveer has been finalised for the role and Dev told that it will not be an easy task to make the 1983 squad. He told, "1983 ki team handle karna wasn't easy, koshish karlo mushkil se milenge aise characters poori India mein."

Ranveer-Kabir to honour cricket legend Kapil Dev and his teammates!

Actor Ranveer Singh is all set to star in a sports-based movie for the first time with 1983 World Cup. The film is based on India's iconic win at the Prudential Cup and the actor will be seen playing the role of the winning captain Kapil Dev. Lately, the official pronouncement will be made in the city.

At the event, the former the real-life champions from the historic match will be honoured. Teammates namely Kapil Dev, Mohinder Amarnath, Kirti Azad, Roger Binny, SS Madanlal, Sandeep Patil, Balwinder Singh Sandhu, Krishnamachari Srikkanth, Yashpal Sharma, Dilip Vengsarkar and Sunil Valson are expected to be a part of the event.

Kabir Khan is the director of the movie and he spoke about Ranveer telling, "As a young schoolboy when I watched India win the 1983 Cricket World Cup. I had no idea that from that day onwards cricket in India will change forever."

He further added, "As a filmmaker, for me, the journey to that win, filled with raw energy and sheer passion of that young Indian team, is probably one of the most exciting stories I have worked on. And it’s great to have Ranveer come on board to play Kapil Dev, as honestly, I could see no one else for the role, ever since I started finalising the script."

The movie is written by National Award-winning filmmaker Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan. It is possible to go on floors early next year and will be shot at the locations where the whole 1983 Prudential Cup tour took place.

Arjun Kapoor steps in the shoes of Kapil Dev for Kabir Khan's next!
