EXCLUSIVE: Ranveer Singh vs. Akshaye Khanna - 'Dhurandhar' Shoots Its Final Shots!

The countdown has officially begun! Bollywood superstar RanveerSingh has successfully wrapped up his portion of shooting for the highly anticipated spy action-thriller, 'Dhurandhar'. Directed by the National Award-winning filmmaker Aditya Dhar (Uri: The Surgical Strike), the film is now racing towards a complete production wrap, with veteran actor AkshayeKhanna set to finish his scenes in the coming days.

Sources close to the production unit confirm that while Ranveer Singh finished his final schedule earlier this week, the entire cast and crew are gearing up for the final 'film wrap' by October 15, 2025.

Ranveer Singh's Intense Transformation: A New Cinematic Avatar

The buzz around Dhurandhar has been immense, largely due to Ranveer Singh's fierce and gritty new look. The actor, known for his ability to completely inhabit a character, is reportedly portraying a covert agent in the film, a role said to be set against a dark, high-stakes backdrop of crime and espionage.

"Ranveer will be seen like never before. He has reinvented himself once again for this role, which is set in a dark and gritty world," a source shared, confirming the wrap of his intense final schedule. Leaked footage of the star in a bearded, long-haired avatar shooting action sequences with Akshaye Khanna in Ladakh had already fueled fan excitement for this espionage drama.

Akshaye Khanna to Conclude His Segments

While Ranveer has concluded his commitments, the remaining principal cast, including the formidable Akshaye Khanna, is set to finalize filming shortly. Reports indicate that Akshaye Khanna, who plays a pivotal role in the thriller, will wrap up his segments by October 10, 2025, bringing the curtains down on the entire shooting process around mid-October. The film also boasts a stellar ensemble cast featuring Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Sara Arjun.

Post-Production in Full Swing for a December Release

With shooting nearing its final completion, the post-production work is already in an advanced stage. Producers are fast-tracking the editing and technical work, with a significant portion of the edit reportedly already locked.

This aggressive pace is to ensure the film hits its crucial theatrical release date: December 5, 2025. The team is planning a massive promotional blitz, including the release of new posters, a song, and a fresh teaser, slated to roll out around the festive season of Diwali.

Dhurandhar is one of the most anticipated films of the year, promising high-octane action, stylized drama, and a gripping narrative inspired by real-life events and covert operations of India’s intelligence agencies.

Ranveer Singh-Triptii Dimri starrer Dhurandhar Confirms Dec 5 Release with Diwali Song Blast!

Ranveer Singh-Triptii Dimri starrer Dhurandhar Confirms Dec 5 Release with Diwali Song Blast!

🔥 BOLLYWOOD SHOCKWAVES: Two Explosive Announcements Set the Stage for 2026

Forget the trailers and the poster reveals—the real electricity in Bollywood is buzzing around two mega-projects that just dropped major news. A festive dance number from Ranveer Singh’s espionage thriller, Dhurandhar, is set to hijack your Diwali, while the casting for a complex new biopic has set Triptii Dimri up for the role of a lifetime.

The Diwali Countdown: Dhurandhar’s High-Octane Festive Entry

Director Aditya Dhar (Uri: The Surgical Strike) is ensuring his high-voltage spy film, Dhurandhar, doesn’t just sneak onto the screen; it arrives with a bang.

The film, which features a powerhouse cast including Ranveer Singh (as a RAW agent), Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, and Arjun Rampal, is reportedly wrapping its shoot by October 15. The strategic move now? Igniting the promotional campaign with a perfectly timed song launch.

The Festive Drop: The film’s first song—a dynamic promotional track featuring the entire star cast—is slated to be released during the Diwali 2025 holiday season.

This move is Hollywood-esque, using a massive cultural moment to confirm the film’s arrival in theaters on December 5, 2025. It's not just a song; it's a declaration: Dhurandhar is coming, and it’s bringing the noise.

The New Icon: Triptii Dimri Transforms into the Tragic Starlet

While Dhurandhar focuses on male espionage, the most challenging and anticipated role in recent memory is being handed to the industry's newest breakout star, Triptii Dimri.

Following her acclaim in Bulbbul and Qala, Dimri is confirmed to play the legendary and enigmatic actress, Parveen Babi, in an upcoming biographical project.

A Role of Depth: Parveen Babi defined the glamour of the 70s and 80s before her career was tragically derailed by mental illness. This role demands not just glamour but incredible emotional complexity.

  • The Vision: The project will be a Netflix limited-edition series, directed by the critically celebrated filmmaker, Shonali Bose (The Sky Is Pink). Bose is known for handling sensitive subjects with incredible depth and empathy, suggesting this won't be a typical, surface-level Bollywood biopic.
  • Timeline: Production for the series is set to begin in early 2026 (around March).

Dimri’s selection is a bold bet, signaling the industry's shift toward prioritizing proven acting prowess over mere resemblance for portraying iconic figures. If she pulls this off, it will be the defining performance of her young career.

The Takeaway: Whether you’re waiting for Ranveer Singh's large-scale spy action or Triptii Dimri's deep dive into the psyche of a broken legend, the upcoming film slate is promising a compelling mix of commercial blockbusters and prestige storytelling.

Aditya Dhar: A Multifaceted Filmmaker Makes His Mark!

Aditya Dhar is a multi-talented Indian filmmaker who has carved his niche in the Hindi film industry. Born on March 12, 1983, in New Delhi, Dhar's journey began not on set, but behind the microphone as a radio jockey. However, his creative vision soon led him to Bollywood, where he initially found success as a lyricist.

Early Career as a Lyricist

Dhar's foray into Bollywood started in 2006 when he penned lyrics for films like "Kabul Express." Over the next decade, he lent his lyrical touch to various movies, including "Haal-e-Dil" (2008), "Daddy Cool" (2009), and "One Two Three" (2018).

Transition to Screenwriting

Dhar's creative ambitions extended beyond lyrics. He transitioned into screenwriting, working on films like "Aakrosh" (2010) and "Tezz" (2012). These experiences honed his storytelling skills and prepared him for his next big step – directing.

Directorial Debut and National Recognition

In 2019, Dhar's directorial debut, "Uri: The Surgical Strike," arrived on the big screen. This high-octane military action film, based on the true events of the 2016 Uri attack, starred Vicky Kaushal, Yami Gautam, and Paresh Rawal. "Uri" was a critical and commercial success, earning over ₹3.5 billion (US$44 million) worldwide and becoming the tenth highest-grossing Indian film domestically.

Dhar's exceptional direction in "Uri" garnered him widespread recognition. He was lauded for his gripping narrative, powerful action sequences, and the film's patriotic spirit. This critical acclaim was further solidified when Dhar received the National Film Award for Best Direction and the Filmfare Award for Best Debut Director for "Uri."

Looking Ahead

Currently, Aditya Dhar is married to actress Yami Gautam (since 2021) and is busy working on his next directorial venture, "The Immortal Ashwatthama," which again features Vicky Kaushal in the lead role.
