Hooda's Heartbreak: The Saragarhi Dream Lost to Akshay Kumar's Kesari!

Hooda's Heartbreak: The Saragarhi Dream Lost to Akshay Kumar's Kesari!

Randeep Hooda, who is now famous for costarring alongside Sunny Deol as the antagonist in Jaat, recently reflected on a significant setback in his career. The actor disclosed that he spent three years working on a film on the Battle of Saragarhi. Unfortunately, the project was shelved after the release of Kesari, starring Akshay Kumar. 'Woh picture ki filming bhi shuru ho gayi thi,' Hooda said, admitting that the cancellation had depressed him.

In a recent media discussion, Randeep Hooda said that it was really upsetting to decide to quit shooting Battle of Saragarhi and never see the film released.

The Jaat actor explained that he had declined significant opportunities to stay true to the historical combat scenario because he had been emotionally invested in the film. Kesari was made soon after, and Hooda claimed that because the film's production had begun while his own was still in the planning stages, he thought it was done in an unappealing manner.

The Kick actor continued by saying that he felt denigrated by Kesari's producers for pursuing their idea at a time when he was already developing a film on the same subject. He revealed that when his film was abruptly placed on hold, he had completed between thirty and forty percent of it.

Given the situation, he said that some people's greed prevented the film from being completed. He went on to say that he was the only Sikh actor in the movie because there were no other Sikh performers.

In an attempt to break away from the shallow depictions of earlier films, the 48-year-old actor disclosed that he was fully committed to give his Sikh role depth and nuance.

Hooda claimed that his idea for the film was deeply rooted in Sikh sentiments and values and that the spirit of the Sikh religion had a significant impact on the endeavour. He also said that he had taken an oath in front of the Guru Granth Sahib as a symbol of his dedication.

As a sign of his devotion to the Battle of Saragarhi, Randeep even turned down a role in the Extraction sequel because he was so emotionally and spiritually invested in the movie. He emphasized this by claiming to have made a pledge in front of the Guru Granth Sahib.

However, the actor admitted that the movie's shelving had upset him. He openly acknowledged that the setback affected him emotionally and that he went through a serious depressed episode following the project's failure.
