The daughter of well-known musician Pankaj Udhas, Nayaab Udhas, tragically revealed on her Instagram account today, February 26, that her father had died after a long illness.
His daughter, Nayaab Udhas, penend a statement. "With a very heavy heart, we are saddened to inform you of the sad demise of Padmashri Pankaj Udhas on 26th February 2024 due to a prolonged illness. Udhas family (sic)", it read.
Udhas is among the most well-known ghazal vocalists in
India. His deep voice and his ability to connect with an audience are well

Apart from his musical achievements, Udhas was widely recognized for his
philanthropic endeavors and his enthusiastic endorsement of social welfare

Pankaj Udhas is an Indian ghazal and playback singer. He was born on 17 May 1951 in Jetpur, Gujarat, India. He is the youngest of three brothers. His brothers, Nirmal Udhas and Manhar Udhas, are also singers.
Udhas's father, Keshubhai Udhas, was a lawyer and his mother, Jituben Udhas, was a homemaker. His family was very supportive of his musical interests and encouraged him to pursue a career in music.
Udhas began learning music at a young age. He initially learned to play the tabla, but later switched to vocal music. He studied Hindustani classical music from Ghulam Qadir Khan Sahab and Navrang Nagpurkar.
Udhas made his debut as a playback singer in the 1980 film "Saath Saath." He sang the song "Chitthi Aai Hai," which became a big hit. He went on to sing playback for many other films, including "Naam" (1986), "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge" (1995), and "Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham" (2001).
