Bollywood actress Vidya Balan had been offered the role of
Indira Gandhi, the late prime minister of India who was also the only woman PM
of India. It was to be directed by Manish Gupta, but it seems the film didn't
work out. Vidya reveals, "I've been offered the role of Indira Gandhi a
couple of times but it's not really worked out so far in terms of script. Maybe
someone writes a good script someday...."
When we questioned Vidya if she admired the late prime
minister, she responded, "Yeah. I just find her a formidable force. And
when we think of a powerful name in the country Indira Gandhi's name is
foremost and the only woman prime minister we've had. So, I'd love to play
Indira Gandhi. But lots of other things as well. I could never imagine I would
play a homemaker who is a late night RJ (in Tumhari Sulu). My imagination is
very limited in it. I'm hoping there are lots of writers who can think of
interesting stories to tell with me."
With that, it definitely looks like it will be a treat to
watch Vidya Balan in Tumhari Sulu. The film releases worldwide on November 17,
2017.
