My parents were keen I follow their footsteps and I did, reveals Twinkle Khanna!

Bollywood actress Twinkle Khanna is going to be a producer from film PadMan. Directed by R. Balki, the film stars Akhshay Khanna, Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor in lead roles.

During a press chat, Twinkle revealed that she always wanted to be a chartered accountant but since her parents were from the entertainment world, they wanted her to join the industry. “When you don’t take success very seriously it’s easier to shrug off failure. When I finished my 12th grade, I wanted to become a chartered accountant. But since my parents were in the entertainment business, they were keen I follow their footsteps and I did,” she revealed.

Speaking about her journey as an actress, she revealed, ‘’Eight years later, I came to the conclusion that I had spectacularly failed as an actress. Though this was a bit disheartening, I wasn’t shattered, partly because of the way my mother had raised me, and also because I realised that having failed at something didn’t mean that I was a failure.’’

“It (the failure) meant that I now had the opportunity to try and succeed at million other things. I moved on and here I am today. Life is like flying a kite. Sometimes you have to hold on tight, sometimes loose. Sometimes your kite can fly effortlessly and at other times no matter what you do, you cannot control it,’’ she further added.

PadMan is scheduled to release on January 26, 2018.

Doting daughter Twinkle Khanna blasts Naseeruddin Shah on Twitter for calling Rajesh Khanna a 'Poor Actor'!

Twinkle Khanna has hit out at veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah, who said that her late father Rajesh Khanna was responsible for bringing ''mediocrity'' in the Hindi film industry in the '70s.

Twinkle, 42, the elder daughter of Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia, posted, ''Sir if you can't respect the living, respect the dead - mediocrity is attacking a man who can't respond @NaseerudinShah.''

In an interview to a leading publication, Shah had told that 70's was the time when mediocrity came in Hindi films and also when Rajesh Khanna joined the industry, who according to him was a ''poor actor''.

Twinkle's friend and filmmaker Karan Johar supported the actress-turned-author and criticised Shah, telling his remarks were in ''exceptionally bad taste''.

''I agree with you @mrsfunnybones... due respect to seniority but this was in exceptionally bad taste and not becoming of a fraternity member,'' Johar posted on Twitter.

Rajesh Khanna, who was Bollywood's first superstar, died of cancer in July 2012 at the age of 69. He has starred in movies likeBaharon Ke Sapne, Aradhana, Haathi Mere Saathi, Amar Prem and Aap Ki Kasam among others.

He won three Filmfare Best Actor Awards and was nominated for the same fourteen times. He was awarded the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 2005.
