Kareena Kapoor Khan’s response to a legal notice over the book title “Pregnancy Bible’!

Kareena Kapoor Khan’s response to a legal notice over the book title “Pregnancy Bible’!

Kareena Kapoor Khan has recently been involved in a controversy over the title of her book, Pregnancy Bible. In response to a court notification issued by the Madhya Pradesh High Court in May, the actress maintained that she had no intention of upsetting religious sentiments.

The warning came after counsel Christopher Anthony filed a petition to prevent the sale of Kareena's book. The Crew actress responded through her lawyers, Divya Krishna Billaiya and Nikhil Bhatt, stating that she had no intention of insulting anyone's religious views. Her response was to redirect the complaint to the sale of her book, Pregnancy Bible, which she also referred to as her 'third child'.

According to a newspaper, the Madhya Pradesh High Court has scheduled a hearing on this case for September 10. Justice GS Ahluwalia will preside.

Anthony, a Jabalpur-based social activist, commented that the title 'Bible' appears to be disrespectful to the Christian community's beliefs. He quoted, “The Bible is the holy book of Christianity and it is wrong to compare Kareena Kapoor Khan's pregnancy with the Bible.”

The court had already rejected Anthony's appeal, claiming that he had failed to show how the phrase "bible" was offensive in Kareena's book. The man then filed an appeal with the Additional Sessions Court, which dismissed his petition as well. When the warning was finally issued to Kareena, the sellers and publishers received legal notifications as well.

Another Christian organization expressed concern about the title of Kareena's book in 2021, causing a police complaint in Maharashtra's Beed against the actress and two others for allegedly offending religious sensibilities. The full legal issue is still to be handled in court.

In terms of her vocation, the diva is gearing up to release The Buckingham Murders, followed by Singham Again this year.

A legal notice for 'Raees' Team from bootlegger Abdul Latif's son?

When Shah Rukh Khan's forthcoming movie Raees was going on floors, there had been news that Khan's character is based on so-called bootlegger Abdul Latif, who ran the illicit liquor business in Gujarat during the peak of Prohibition in the 1990s.

At present, it seems that this connection might prove to be worrying for the Raees team as we have heard that Mustak Ahmed, the son of Abdul Latif, has sent legal notices to nine prominent people involved with the making of Raees, including SRK, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, producer Ritesh Sidhwani and director Rahul Dholakia, asking them to cease and stop with their film as it is feared that it might depict Abdul Latif in a negative light.

Film Raees, which is slated to release this Eid, also stars Mahira Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
