Shabana Azmi’s Sheer Qorma for the LGBTQI community’s struggles!

Veteran Shabana Azmi has always batted for the queer community.

The actress did Fire at a time when no one wanted to play gay, and now she’s also signed Faraz Arif Ansari’s Sheer Qorma. The lesbian drama will star Divya Dutta and Swara Bhaskar as a couple who want acceptance from their families and from society as a whole, and Shabana will play the role of Divya’s mom. The veteran actress was very moved by the script which highlights the LGBTQI community’s struggles, and didn’t hesitate to say yes. I know she’ll be her usual fantastic self in it!

Bollywood actress Sonali Bendre released an official statement after being diagnosed with a high-grade cancer. The actor is presently seeking treatment in New York. Friends and family have been sharing their wishes on social media.

Sonali’s friend Divya Dutta penned a heartfelt tribute for her in a tabloid. She shared it on social media and posted, “Tribune today. This one is for you @iamsonalibendre . My first friend in the industry. Love you loads always.”

She had written, “As we got to know each other I realized how simple she was. Simple yet very confident. A winner all the way, and she knew that. When we sat together we would discuss our experiences in the industry. We both came from protective backgrounds but I was vulnerable and apprehensive but she was clear and confident and a fighter. She inspired me.”

Divya Dutta had further written, “When we are busy with the everyday bhag–daud, one fine day a health scare, just stops it all. I am shocked, a healthy happy Sonali is detected with Cancer. Life is so unpredictable, one doesn’t know what tomorrow holds but one thing I know for sure- this lovely girl will come out of it emerging a winner. She will fight this battle too strongly, like all her previous ones. She will win it with a smile”

Sonali was touched by this post and responded, “Divya, tumne toh rula diya! Love you! Thank you.”

Veteran actor Anil Kapoor reveals he had fun working with actress Divya Dutta in "Fanney Khan".

After wrapping up her shooting schedule for the movie Fanney Khan, Divya tweeted,  "And it's wrap time for me on the 'Fanney Khan' sets! Beautiful journey. Anil Kapoor, you are a dream co-star to work with. And will you always look that good??? Thank you my dearest Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra for yet another beautiful film... Atul Manjrekar been so much fun working with you,"

To which, Anil replied, "It's been a blast working with you Divya. It has been an amazing journey indeed with you playing your role exceptionally in it. Our 'Fanney Khan' family would be incomplete without you."

Earlier, Divya had told that her role in "Fanney Khan" is "beautiful, emotional, soft and strong".
