The 'Xbox obsession' is reason behind Cheryl Cole and Liam Payne’s split?

Recently, Liam Payne and Cheryl Cole called it quits after dating for more than two years.

Both issued a statement on Twitter which reads as "We are sad to announce that we are going our separate ways. It's been a tough decision for us to make. We still have so much love for each other as a family. Bear is our world and we ask that you respect his privacy as we navigate our way through this together."

While the two make it seem that the split was cordial, a friend close to the couple suggests otherwise. Disclosing details to a daily, the friend specified that Liam's addiction to gaming was a major factor in the breakup.

The friend revealed, "Cheryl loved playing on the Xbox with Liam when they first started going out. But as time went on she hated it. She tried to ban him from playing it. The final straw was apparently when she went mental about it and chucked it across the room. Liam loves to escape like other guys do, play online with the lads and all that, but by the end, it was the Xbox or Cheryl." 

"Liam’s just a normal guy who likes his normal guy stuff – you can’t deny a bloke that. He’s a grown up that loves his toys. What bloke doesn’t? Now he’s back online with the boys – he plays FIFA, Call Of Duty and Grand Theft Auto," the friend further added.

Hollywood stars Liam Payne and Cheryl Cole lately pronounced their split, after dating for more than two years, via a statement, which they shared on Twitter.

The statement reads as "We are sad to announce that we are going our separate ways. It's been a tough decision for us to make. We still have so much love for each other as a family. Bear is our world and we ask that you respect his privacy as we navigate our way through this together."

As per statement, the breakup was amicable between the two, but, news went widespread that Cheryl's mom was to be blamed for the split. 

The statement reads as, "I hate responding to stuff esp at such difficult times but i cannot sit here and listen to such nasty, false articles regarding my mam. I don't know why they involve her in stories about me. i can assure you she absolutely nothing to do with any of it. I am a grown woman who is capable of dealing with my own life. She is a soft and kind woman who doesn't deserve to be dragged into something that has nothing whatsoever to do with her."

Liam agreed with Cheryl's stand and liked the tweet.

Hollywood celebs Liam Payne and Cheryl Cole, who started dating in 2016, have split after dating for more than two years. The ex-couple join the "celebrity couples split bandwagon" and took to Twitter to issue a statement regarding their breakup.

Liam and Cheryl jointly tweeted, "We are sad to announce that we are going our separate ways. It's been a tough decision for us to make. We still have so much love for each other as a family. Bear is our world and we ask that you respect his privacy as we navigate our way through this together."

Earlier, the star-crossed lovers met during X-Factor, 10 years ago, when a 14-year-old Liam auditioned with Cheryl as one of the judges. The closeness between the two formed after Liam and his bandmates from One Direction performed for the last time as a group on X-Factor.

After a momentary romance, the two welcomed their first child Bear Payne in March 2017.
