Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is all set to begin shooting
for Fanney Khan. The film, which is being directed by debutant Atul Manjrekar,
is expected to go on-floors this month with Anil Kapoor, while Aishwarya will
be joining the cast and crew a little later.
In the movie, both Aishwarya and Anil Kapoor play singers,
the prep for which had begun a while back. Co-producer of Fanney Khan, Prernaa
Arora had disclosed in an interview to a tabloid, "The team starts
building the set in Mumbai next month and Anil will kick off shooting in the
first week of August. Aishwarya joins him by the month-end and the film will
wrap up in a start-to-finish schedule by October."
She added, "Ash was blown away by her glamorous and
“highly stylised” character. We took the script to her two months ago and she
immediately gave her nod."
But, Aishwarya isn't paired opposite Anil Kapoor and instead
will be seen alongside a young actor. Rumors were widespread that Rajkummar Rao
or Vicky Kaushal have been in the running for the role. When Prernaa was asked
about them, she told us, "We were looking at casting. This was our wish
list that we were looking at. These were the names that we thought of, Rakeysh
Omprakash Mehra thought of. Yes, this is not false but this is not something
that we have gone ahead with. We are looking at somebody who will suit the
character perfectly. So that is something that is going on and soon we will be
able to come to a conclusion of who will be cast and in another 10-15 days, we
should be done with it."
Now, as per a famous tabloid, actor Akshay Oberoi was also
offered Fanney Khan but he turned down the same. A source informed the tabloid,
"Akshay Oberoi was approached for the film. Talks were initiated with the
actor but it didn’t work out eventually. Now, they are still hunting for a
young actor."
Fanney Khan is scheduled to release in April 2018.
