Farhan Akhtar has officially announced the production of Don 3. Ranveer Singh will play the lead in the 2025-starting production.
The much-anticipated Don 3 and the new main character were officially revealed by Farhan Akhtar on Monday. By revealing Ranveer Singh's debut as the new Don, he caused havoc on the internet. The crowd loved the actor's mannerisms and flair and thought he would be perfect for the part. However, because he would be replacing Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan in the role of Don, some internet critics expressed doubt over his casting. Since these criticisms have been addressed, Farhan has added further details about the filming schedule.
Ranveer's selection as the new Don was recently discussed by the filmmaker in an interview with a media source. He talked about how Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan had a similar experience when SRK took on Senior Bachchan's Don role, and how the actor had admitted to feeling nervous about playing either of their parts. Farhan disclosed, “I’m just really looking forward to get it going. I mean Ranveer is amazing. He’s great for the part. He’s also as you can imagine, really excited and really nervous, about the thing you’re filling some big shoes before you. But we went through the same emotional process when Shah Rukh did it and everyone was like ‘Oh my God, how can you replace Mr. Bachchan?.’ That whole thing happened then.”
Chatting how Ranveer would be ideal for the part, Farhan further disclosed, “It really is about an actor coming in and owning the part and making it really like, giving it their style and their flair. And he has that, he has that in spades. So, he’s going to do a great job. I think the responsibility is more mine now to make sure that the script and the film works out the way I imagine.” Farhan was also asked what qualities made for a good Don to which he replied, “self-confidence, flamboyance and the ability to do anything that your mind is set on.”
The filmmaker provided more details about the shooting
schedule for the movie and stated that it would start in January 2025.
