Film 2.0 has released now. The movie starring South
superstar Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar has been one of the much-anticipated movies
of the year. Devotees of Rajinikanth simply cannot contain their excitement and
were seen celebrating the release of the movie like a festival. Film 2.0
managed to break a few records even before the release in the advance booking,
and now, the film is setting the box office on fire.
As per reports, for the Hindi version, 2.0 has earned around
Rs 25 crores. The final numbers are anticipated to be greater. The film
registered an occupancy of over 90 per cent in South and around 35 per cent in
Hindi belt. Film 2.0 is ruling the overseas market as well. The film's advance
booking was started around a week before in the overseas markets and this has
only helped the sci-fi film to put big numbers on day one at the box office. As
per the initial figures, 2.0 has earned around Rs 59 lakhs ($83,720) from 35
screens in Australia, $282,967 from 258 screens in the US till 9 PM EST and Rs
11.11 lakhs ($15,920) in New Zealand from 18 screens, as per film critic and
trade analyst Ramesh Bala.
