It is one of the best movies I’ve been in, says Saif Ali Khan on Kaalakaandi!

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan presently has three films in his kitty - Kaalakaandi, Chef and Baazaar. All three movies are unique from one another when it comes to the content and the stories.

Speaking about the range of movies and relearning his craft with a famous news portal, Saif told, "Kaalakaandi and some of the other stuff I’ve done like Chef and Baazaar, probably ignited in me this desire to hone my craft better and work at it harder. Working with a fantastic breed of actors and actresses who are so free, unfazed and natural only inspires you to do better."

Talking in detail about Kaalakaandi specially, the actor disclosed, "I was thinking about how to approach this role in Kaalakaandi, make it believable and not fall into the trap of playing to the gallery. So, I bought a lot of books to read on acting and techniques etc. A lot of it is academic and homework, but that’s what preparation is all about."

Speaking about his Kaalakaandi co-stars Deepak Dobriyal and Vijay Raaz, Saif specified, "It is one of the best movies I’ve been in. Deepak Dobriyal and Vijay Raaz are like Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino. I have never seen better acting in any film I’ve been in. I just want to somehow thank them for the experience."

Saik spoke fondly of Akshat Verma, the director of Kaalakaandi. He told, "Akshat (writer/director) has done a stellar job reflecting the soul of Mumbai. It highlights its underbelly and counterculture so brilliantly, and for that, it needs to be celebrated. Who would have Vijay Raaz and me in the same film? One of us would be the item. One of us would be the joke… but Mumbai has us both. So does the film. And us being ourselves."

Kaalakaandi is scheduled to release on September 8, 2017.

Saif Ali Khan is unable to see his son Taimur! Know Why?

Saif Ali Khan is enjoying his happiest moments. After becoming father to Taimur Ali Khan Pataudi, the actor confesses that his personal and professional life is exactly how he wanted it to be. In an interview to a famous tabloid, Saif Ali Khan was quoted as telling, “I do realize that it has taken me a while to reach this stage and that it has been a kind of chequered past with ups and downs. But that’s great because I feel good, and feel as I have learnt everything on my own. Also, I feel I have a place in the world as well as in the industry.”

As we all know, Saif Ali Khan is the father of Sara, Ibrahim and Taimur. And as much as he enjoys the merits of his professional life, Saif confesses that his personal life takes a toll. In an interview, Saif told,  “When I am doing a 9am to 9pm shift, I don’t even get to see Taimur because I leave the house before he wakes up, and by the time I get back, he is sleeping. And I don’t know if I want to do that a lot (smiles). I want to balance it and have some time for myself too. So, the idea is to carry on doing my work in the best manner but not overwork also.” That’s very wise, Dear Papa!

On the film front, Saif Ali Khan will be next seen in Kaalakaandi and the Hindi remake of the Hollywood hit, Chef (2014).
