Prakash Jha makes grown men quake in their boots, says Priyanka Chopra!


Priyanka Chopra, who will be playing the role of a female IPS officer in Prakash Jha's Jai Gangaajal, lately shared a teaser video of the film's making on her Instagram account, which shows the ace director taking his crew members to task.

Priyanka shared the video with her fans and along with it she, posted, ''Here's a little known fact about Prakash Jha... apart from being an amazing director, he also has a talent for making grown men quake in their boots every time he picked up the directors mike! Fun to watch when it's directed elsewhere... scary to be on the receiving end! #PrakashJha sorry sir but I just couldn't resist! #jaigangaajal.''
  

Director Prakash Jha is making his acting debut with the cop drama and has been getting rave reviews for his act in the film, ever since the trailer of the movie has been revealed. Priyanka, who is currently shooting for the second season of her American TV show Quantico, is also making all the right noises with her tough cop act.

Prakash Jha visited see over 50 Police Stations for 'Jai Gangaajal'!


Prakash Jha, who is currently busy with the city promotions of his next Jai Gangaajal, was lately in Chandigarh to promote his Priyanka Chopra starrer and the filmmaker met over 150 female cops in the union territory.

During his interaction with the female police officers, Jha disclosed, ''Jai Gangaajal is a story drawn from the experiences of several police officers that I have met. I visited 52 police stations located in the interiors of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh before I started work on this film. I know how difficult it is for our female police officers to work in those trying conditions. Most police stations don't even have proper toilet facilities.''

The ace filmmaker stated that he made the movie on society-police relationship as the subject is very close to his heart. In fact, he roped in Neeraj Kumar, former Commissioner of Police, Delhi, as a consultant as he didn't want to cite any incorrect laws and rules in the movie.

The trailer of the movie was screened for Chandigarh's brave female cops and it received an overwhelming response from them, much to the filmmaker's delight. Vega Tamotia and Rahul Bhatt, who are playing key roles in the movie, were also present at the do. The female police officers even posed for selfies with the film's team, post the event.


Priyanka Chopra was always the first choice for 'Jai Gangaajal', reveals Prakash Jha!


Priyanka Chopra, who had lately wowed everybody with her portrayal of the gracious Kashibai in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Bajirao Mastani, will be next seen playing a harsh cop in Prakash Jha's Jai Gangaajal and we hear that Jha had Priyanka in mind as the first choice to play the central character Abha Mathur.


Sanctioning the news, Jha told that Priyanka was his first and last choice for the role of IPS officer SP Abha Mathur and that they both had wanted to work with each other since years. Jha further revealed that she contacted him when he was writing Jai Gangaajal and told him that she wanted to do this role and that no other actress should be signed up for this.

Have to work very hard to make my relevant films entertaining for the audience, reveals Prakash Jha!

National Award-winning filmmaker Prakash Jha, who is known for making socially significant movies, is currently on a promotional spree for his forthcoming cop drama Jai Gangaajal and during a promotional event in Ranchi, he told that it is a challenge for him to make his hard-hitting movies entertaining.

At a Press conference in Jharkhand's capital, when asked if it is hard to make the kind of movies that he is known for, the ace director told, ''Each film of mine focuses on our ever-changing society. Yes, it’s very challenging to make socially relevant films and to present them in an entertaining way as my films release in the same theaters as adult comedies and in the same amount of money people can see either. So I have to work very hard to attract my audience and to make them engage with my content. But there are no two ways about it.''


Written and directed by Prakash Jha, produced by Prakash Jha Productions and Play Entertainment and co-produced by Milind Dabke, Jai Gangaajal revisits the dusty heartland of Central India and examines the society–police relationship. Starring Priyanka Chopra, the movie is all set to release on 4th March, 2016. Jai Gangaajal is not a prequel or a sequel to Ajay Devgn starrer Gangaajal but is a new story.
