Neeraj Ghaywan (born 1980, Hyderabad) is a celebrated Indian film director and screenwriter who has emerged as one of the most vital voices in contemporary cinema. Known for his "cinema of conscience," Ghaywan’s work is characterized by a deep, unwavering empathy and an unflinching exploration of caste, gender, and identity. portal Passionforcinema.com, where his reviews caught the eye of
director Anurag Kashyap, who eventually became his mentor.
