Celebs mourn over Comedian Raju Srivastav’s sad demise!

Well-known comedian Raju Srivastav was one of the popular names in the Television and film industry. The comedy king passed away on 21^st September 2022. His death was confirmed by his family members. He suffered a heart attack on August 10 while excercising in a gym at a hotel. He was rushed to the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and underwent angioplasty. Since then, he was on a ventilator and never gained consciousness. Politicians to celebrities have expressed their condolence on his death. Fans are also mourning his death and called him ‘Legend’. The late comedian had huge fans following due his comedy and sense of humor. He participated in the shows like The Great Indian Laughter Challenge, Comedy Cirkus, and The Kapil Sharma Show among others.

Renowned comedian Rajpal Yadav wrote, “I have no words to describe this loss. You have left us all too soon. You will be missed my brother. I just can’t believe this.” Actress Nimrat Kaur also took to her Twitter handle and expressed condolence, “Deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Late Raju Srivastava ji. May God bless his journey into the light.” Veteran actress Jaya Prada also posted, “मशहूर कमेडियन Raju Srivastav जी हमारे बीच नही रहे। सबकों हमेशा हँसाने वाला इंसान आज खुद खामोश हो गया और सबको दुःखी कर गया। उन्हें विनम्र श्रद्धांजलि  #RIP  #comedian #rajusrivastava”

Comedian Vipul Goyal posted, “RIP LEGEND #rajusrivastava. Will always cherish this evening. Thanks for the entertainment and inspiring a generation of comedians”.

Political leaders Defence Minister Rajnath Singh extends condolences on the demise of comedian Raju Srivastava. He wrote, “सुप्रसिद्ध हास्य कलाकार, राजू श्रीवास्तव जी के निधन से मुझे गहरा दुःख हुआ है। वे एक मंझे हुए कलाकार होने के साथ-साथ एक बेहद ज़िंदादिल इंसान भी थे। सामाजिक क्षेत्र में भी वे काफ़ी सक्रिय रहते थे। उनके शोकाकुल परिवार एवं प्रशंसकों के प्रति मैं अपनी संवेदना व्यक्त करता हूँ।ॐ शान्ति!”

Akhilesh Yadav wrote, “It’s regretful that Raju Srivastava is no more with us. He came from a poor family with his talent & hard work; created his presence in the world. Very few talented comedians like him. I remember how he wanted to contest from Kanpur when he joined SP.”

Home Minister Amit Shahji wrote, “सुप्रसिद्ध हास्य कलाकार राजू श्रीवास्तव जी का एक विशिष्ट अंदाज था, उन्होंने अपनी अद्भुत प्रतिभा से सभी को प्रभावित किया। उनका निधन कला जगत के लिए एक बड़ी क्षति है। मैं उनके परिजनों व प्रशंसकों के प्रति संवेदना व्यक्त करता हूँ। ईश्वर उन्हें यह दुःख सहने की शक्ति दें। ॐ शांति शांति”

Shailesh Lodha also shared an old picture with Raju Srivastava on his Instagram handle and penned a long note. He wrote, "हमारी दोस्ती बरसोँ पुरानी... स्टार प्लस के एक शो कॉमेडी का महा मुक़ाबला में जिस वक़्त हम साथ थे तब राजू श्रीवास्तव ने एक एक्ट में एक चरित्र किया था जो बड़े ही ख़ास अंदाज़ में "आओ आओ " बोला करता था ...उस दिन से उन का नंबर मेरे फ़ोन में "राजू आओ आओ" नाम से ही संगृहित है.आज सारी दुनिया कह रही है....आओ आओ....वापिस आ जाओ....अद्भुत कलाकार....कमाल के मित्र....,राजू भाई....ऐसे रुला के जाओगे .....ये नहीं सोचा था....उस दिन aiims में भाभी और परिवार से मुलाक़ात की तो विश्वास था कि जल्द ही आओगे आप स्वस्थ होकर किन्तु आप तो अनंत यात्रा पर चले गए....ईश्वर आप को अपने चरणों में स्थान दे....हास्य के क्षेत्र की इस क्षति को कभी पूरा नहीं जा सकेगा".

About his acting career, he had acted in films like Aamdani Athanni Kharcha Rupaiyaa, Main Prem ki Diwani Hoon and Bombay to Goa.

Late Raju Srivastava rose to fame after participating in the first season of the reality stand-up comedy show The Great Indian Laughter Challenge in 2005.

Raj Srivastava had acted in some popular shows like Dekh Bhai Dekh, Shaktimaan, The Great Indian Laughter Challenge, Bigg Boss 3, Comedy Circus, Nach Baliye 6, Comedy Nights with Kapil and The Kapil Sharma Show.
