Celebrities’s heartfelt tribute to late veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar!


Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar passed away following prolonged illness on Sunday morning, i.e., February 06. She was 92. The Nightingale of India was admitted to Breach Candy hospital on January 8 and spent nearly a month in the ICU, after she was diagnosed with COVID-19 and pneumonia. Numerous famous celebs from different fraternities paid their last respect to the legendary singer at Mumbai's Shivaji Park. The painful news sent the whole nation into a state of grief.

Actress Preity Zinta took to her Instagram handle and paid her last respects. She posted, “R.I.P Lataji. May god give peace to your soul. You might have left us physically but you will live in our hearts forever. Thank you so much for all those magical songs. This really is the end of an era. My heartfelt condolences to the family.”

Filmmaker Boney Kapoor also recall the legendary singer and posted a video from Pukar sets. “Blessed & Honoured to have Lata ji join us for a week in Hyderabad to capture her enacting the song for our film Pukar. All of us were in awe of her. The humble person that she was, she mixed with the unit in no time and won our hearts with the care and love that she gave us. Even though she was a frugal eater, she was a ‘foodie’ (as what today’s generation would describe her) and she made sure we all tried different dishes. She would regale both Sri and me with the most amusing anecdotes from her past which would leave us in splits. One of the most memorable week of my life which I shall always treasure,” he posted along with the clip.

Actor Ayushmann Khurrana posted a video of Lata Mangeshkar and offered condolences. He tweeted, “Lata di’s demise is a huge loss to the nation. I grew up listening to her songs because she was my dadi’s fav singer. So, her loss brings back a deluge of memories and nostalgia. Lata di was and will always be the pride of India. Her name will be etched with glowing letters in the history of Indian cinema. It is not just an end of an era. It’s the end of multiple eras.”

The former cricketer master blaster Sachin Tendulkar used to address her “aai”. The unfortunate news have left him heartbroken. Sachin Tendulkar took to his official Twitter handle and told that he feels a part of him is lost. “I consider myself fortunate to have been a part of Lata Didi’s life. She always showered me with her love and blessings. With her passing away, a part of me feels lost too,” he posted. Sachin further added, “She’ll always continue to live in our hearts through her music.” Sachin Tendulkar and his wife Anjali Tendulkar paid tribute to the legendary singer at Mumbai’s Shivaji Park.

Actress Bhumi Pednekar took to her Instagram handle. Sharing a picture of the legendary singer, Bhumi penned an emotional caption. She wrote, "A very sad day and a huge loss for all of us, her fans. Your contribution will live on forever ma’am. My condolences to the family and all her fans across the world. Om Shanti #LataMangeshkar"

Actor Ranveer Singh took to his Instagram handle and shared a throwback pic of the veteran singer. He captioned the picture with a broken heart emoji.

Actress Kajal Aggarwal took to her Twitter handle and wrote, "India has lost its nightingale! You will be terribly missed but your legacy will live forever Om Shanti #LataMangeshkar #immortal #legend"

Shahid Kapoor took to his Twitter handle and tweeted, "An icon a legend .. words will always fall short. Thank you for your glorious voice Lata ji. It will resonate worldwide for generations to come. RIP."

Actor Anil Kapoor took to his Twitter handle and penned an emotional note. He wrote, "Heartbroken, but blessed to have known & loved this incredible soul...Lataji holds a place in our hearts that will never be taken by anyone else. That's how profoundly she has impacted our lives with her music. May she rest in peace & light up the heavens with her brightness"

Actor Arjun Rampal took to his Twitter handle and wrote "A legend an icon, how blessed and fortunate we have all been to have witnessed and heard our dear nightingale Lataji, you will always live in our hearts you touched. My heartfelt condolences to the Mangeshkar family. RIP Lataji. Om Shanti."

Dia Mirza shared a throwback picture and penned an emotional caption. The former beauty queen wrote, "Lata Mangeshkarji’s voice will always be India’s voice. Our glorious nightingale of India. Our Bharat Ratna. Rest In Glory. Om Shanti."

Ajay Devgn took to his Twitter handle and tweeted, "An icon forever. I will always savour the legacy of her songs. How fortunate were we to have grown up listening to Lataji’s songs. Om Shanti. My deepest condolences to the Mangeshkar family."
