Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor is happy with the admiration
coming his way for his depiction of a noble Rajput king in Sanjay Leela
Bhansali’s masterwork, Padmaavat. Shahid had disclosed that he was uncertain
about doing the role, but wife Mira persuaded him to take up the opportunity.
In a media chat with a tabloid, Shahid told that he was
aware of the risk of doing this movie. He revealed, “I remember telling Mira
that I have taken a risk but I will take on this challenge. This film has been
a one-and-a-half year long journey. In fact, she supported me a lot. I remember
after watching the film, Mira hugged me and said, ‘I am proud of you. The
character is so understated and underplayed. It was so difficult but I loved
what you did in the film and this is your best performance.’”
He further added, “Today everybody is reaching out, giving
me love, and are being appreciative.”
